Can't remember the last time we didn't go over to our friends' place for Thanksgiving (like since '94?), but they've both got work, so we'll go there Sunday evening instead. Not leaving the house at all--just gonna be Mom, the husband, and I doing a small thing here. Doing a really easy dinner--Mom will do a split turkey breast and drumsticks for us and tofurkey for her this afternoon, and I'll be heating up all the (premade) sides. Lazy sort of holiday, but it's cool, I don't mind it. Gonna WoW some, cook, maybe watch Army of Darkness to revisit an old Thanksgiving tradition. And maybe a nap, too. :p
Anyway, still wrote something, even if it's blah because I was half-paying attention to the Macy's parade on TV earlier. :|

Nov. 18th, 2010 04:35 pmEh. Half-assing the mininano/wrisomifu thing again today, because I suck with words. I like how I had this grand idea that I'd give it my all and start developing all these ideas (the superhero au, plus several others I haven't even tried to start--a cyberpunkish j2 AU, a s/d dragon/wingfic thing, a s/d Mage: the Ascension-ish sort of AU), but really other than a few days of actual inspiration and energy, I'm mostly just tossing out crap to just get it done and out of the way. So it's developing a habit, sort of, but is it a *good* or useful habit?
Would help if I weren't doing the insomnia-but-not-let-myself-sleep-in thing lately. Few hours a night followed by being kinda zombieish during the day isn't leading to being productive, much less a pleasant person for the husband and mother to deal with.

Anyway, there was birthday sushi yesterday, and an ice cream cake (despite Cold Stone's best attempts to have *lost* the order Mom called in earlier in the week--they were even kind of snotty and acted like she hadn't called or hadn't called that store, even when she showed them the date/time in her cel phone history >_< ). My brother and his gf sent and Amazon giftcard, Mom gave me a cast iron griddle/grill for the stovetop that I'd been eyeing (watching Food Network shows makes me want things D:), and the husband took care of both birthday and Christmas with a Wii. XD; Mom also did an early Christmas gift and gave me Super Smash Bros. Brawl since she didn't want us to just have the sports/sports resort games the base Wii system comes with. Eeeee, it is awesome and I am never going to grow up \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ Thinking of using the birthday $ from my Dad to get the WiiFit accessory and game, since I've wanted it for ages and could *really* use something for exercise. Though a balance board, I dunno...balance and I are NOT FRIENDS. D: We shall see.
Anyway ^^; This is my brain today: is thunderstorming, and after one particularly good roll of thunder, my brain chimes in "...thunder, Thundercats, hooooooooo!" And if that wasn't bad enough, while I was getting ready earlier, it started throwing SILLY thoughts at me, of Jared as Lion-O, Jensen as a dude!Cheetara (it's the freckles, I tell you :x), Sadie-Kit and Harley-Kat, and oh god, what is wrong with me. (And I can't decide if Misha would be a good Tigra, and I dunno for Panthro. One thing that's certain--Chad Michael Murray as Snarf. Or Mumm-Ra. Or both. Seriously, what the hell's wrong with me. XD;; )
Right. Enough foolishness for today. Or for now at least. :|

In WoW news, I despise the heroic Blood Princes fight, and I'm glad we got them because I am NEVER EVER doing that fight again. Had me half in tears/half in screaming rage, and I had to go hit a wall a few times, especially when someone was laughing at how pissed off and frustrated I was. :|

Massive improvement, woo yeah \o/ Took advantage of actually having some energy today and have made a batch of that mulligatawny soup I like. Tired now, but criminy, stayed awake all day and got multiple things done, so I'm totally okay with that. Talking with almost no hoarseness is lovely.

Okay, a confession. I have only read one BigBang so far. :x I'm fail, I know--I just haven't been good at focusing on long fic, and have been reading a lot of 5k-10k and type length stuff. And I've just been in this mood where I want/need stuff that's lighter, and a lot of BigBangs have been so serious, angsty, dramatic, or the sorts that really make you hurt until the end. So...I've kind of been avoidant, even when it's stuff written by people on my flist and I should read because I do care for you all and think so highly of the work you've done. D:
But this is that one BigBang, and I adore it so. I've been so excited for it since I heard the premise, because c'mon, J2 and D&D in one? SCORE \o/ It makes my fangirl and my fangeek heart happy. And this is delightful. It's fun, exciting, action and adventure-filled, as well as sweet and adorable and b'awwww ^____^ ♥ She mixes the story with the game world/mechanics so smoothly and so well (and trust me, it's difficult to do that)--and it's something that's cool to read both if you're a D&D player and even if you've never heard of the game at all. Give it a try! ♥ And the art's really nicely done, too~

So after about 560$ of vet bills, looks like Bebop-cat went really anemic (sounds like something that can happen with chronic kidney issues, from what they were saying). Just in 3 weeks he'd dropped a pound, too. So they've got him on steroids now and the same red blood cell-boosting injection that our elderly cat's on. They'll retest his rbc count next Friday, and then periodically after that to determine if he needs to stay on the steroids/injections permanently or no. So crossing fingers and all that.
