spnland puzzle challenge, and then redoing half because I am a dumbass who can't read instructions right. I love the feeling of "1am?? Where the fuck did my evening go??" :| (Even had WoW running, but barely actually managed to play, just treated it like a extra-fancy IM program--though not sure why, because I was talking with everyone in Vent as it was.) Also, I seem to have missed the Team Hell chat (last night?), because I can't seem to manage converting dates and time zones right. Dumbass x2 \o/
Having a cookout tonight with the folks I D&D with, though no fireworks planned. Should still be cool. Originally was going to make something to bring with, but just bought something premade, one because I'm lazy and two at the rate I'm going I probably would have bolluxed that all up as well, or maybe just burned the house down. :p (Nearly messed the oven up *again* Friday night, thanks to two el cheapo frozen pizzas on the oven rack and only one not-as-wide-as-the-two-pizzas cookie sheet beneath them. Woo, go me \o/ )

Stumbled on this song on my iTunes playlist, just was floored all over again how breathtakingly beautiful the music from this movie was. At least we do have this one on DVD since god, I want to watch it again so very much. But realized in that time where we threw out old, all but dead fansub tapes and boxed up all our commercial VHS tapes that while we got DVDs for Laputa, Kiki, Mononoke Hime and Spirited Away, we never for some reason got around to getting the DVDs for Totoro, Nausicaa or Whisper of the Heart. (Criminy, I *need* to see Whisper of the Heart again). I dunno, I'm in a mood. It's nostalgiamelancholy or something.
Got to try the Ruby Sanctum instance (10man) with the guild tonight, or all 7 of us plus James' alt mage and a couple pug people. Figures on our 'okay this is it last attempt' of the night we were able to finally get Halion down. And figures the only good dps caster loots are from the 25man.
Made a sort of pad thai-ish style stir fry this evening with the leftover peanut sauce from a few days ago. I think I'm enamored with rice noodles now--so going to use those instead of just plain rice when I do a curry again.
Aaron gifted me with Torchlight via Steam (games there are so *cheap* at times, it's amazing). Cannot wait to try it. ♥

More pseudo-tanka than tanka, really. Haven't tried doing one since 2003. Using the classic form of 57577, though American tanka often don't hold to that. I'm still terrible at that 'single moment' aspect of this and haiku.

Got Wynnchester (horde paladin) to 62, finished her paladin charger quest yesterday--didn't need to do it since they train the epic riding mount now, but wanted the special blood knight tabard. I've wanted that tabard since BC beta when I wished Ak could have it only to find it was paladin only. Levelling a paladin continues to be so freaking easy. Switched back to using ret primarily, and good grief stuff dies fast, and no mana problems at all.
Crystal-cat still moves like an arthritic 100 year old, which is really what she is, but since they upped the prednisone dosage she's actually moving around the house again instead of just sleeping in Mom's room all day. She came down here and (after several tries) got up on the couch to her "spot"--first time she's done that in several weeks, I think.

Got woken up by a phone call from Anj, dozed more, then was up again, which of course resulted in being awake until the stupid time of now, rather intelligent of me, yes.

The reason Anj had called, though, was that the husband and I were supposed to have gone to a movie night at Don's tonight, I guess. Don did his usual not emailing about it until middle of last week, but I didn't see because I don't check my cable ISP email much anymore--only by chance checked it tonight, saw the email at 6:22 when we would have had to leave at 6:30 (not to mention stop at the store for stuff to bring with, plus the whole neither of us were leaving-the-house ready so that would have required time). Sent him a reply that we weren't going to be there and gave him the Yahoo email I actually check. Honestly, if he wanted to do something with just a couple days notice, I wish he'd call, or if he insists on doing so by email, I wish he'd give more warning. That always drives me nuts about him.
Might have also raidedysi_leftovers like crazy. Someone had a post with a bunch of Cat Power and Bad Religion albums, and I might have picked up Adam Lambert's two (don't judge me), Kane's plus his EP (hush, I was curious), one of Jem just because, and one of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club since I heard them on a fanmix and wanted more. Also trying some Treetop Flyers, Sean Pinchin, and We Are The Fallen. I know there's a lot on my Amazon mp3 wishlist I need to actually buy, but with the furnance/ac and cat vet bills of late, I'm just, you know. : /

May. 2nd, 2010 02:02 amIt's funny that the thing I was looking forward to doing most for spnland was writing, and ironically, what's the thing I haven't been able to do almost at all since it started? Yeah. Started out okay, but ever since.... Nearly nothing. Wouldn't even call it being blocked or locked up, because that implies there's something there to block or lock up. There's just really nothing in my head, writing-wise. And I'm gonna just laugh at myself for the whole "I wanna be a poet" thing, because yeah. To write as a career, you have to be able to, you know.... There's just no words, not for fan stuff, not for original projects.
Naturally, I actually had one idea for this one challenge due tomorrow (love letter from one character to another), and I was like yay and worked on it, and then realized the rules state it's got to be major, named characters and what I had won't work, not a bit. Sooo yeah. Awesomes. Least there's games there, because that's the only stuff I seem to be able to accomplish. That and voting on things.
I guess I could understand if I were just having trouble with character-focused things, because I'm a pretty lousy fan that just isn't as into secondary characters all that much, and some I'm outright *blah* on. I mean, yeah, I like Bobby and some others, but really if it isn't Sam or Dean (or okay, maybe the Impala), I just don't get too motivated. But there's been plenty of general writing challenges that don't demand certain characters, in which I could have written with Sam and Dean. Yet still no inspiration or success at motivating myself.
Then lately when I see everyone talking about their big bang projects, I get the little thought in my head of "Next year I'll try that!". Hey, self? Yeah. This is me pointing and laughing at you. LoooooooooOOOOOOOoooooooool. Pull the other one, it's got bells on. Dumbass.
At least I can accomplish things in WoW (Nin to 72, Sampala to 17), that's worth something right? Right? Yeah, didn't think so. :|

But okay, geek things! The guild tonight finally got down Blood Queen Lana'thel 25man tonight. Finally! Fiiiiiinaaaaaallyyyyyyyyyy~! And it happened like two seconds after she hit enrage timer, so squeak. ^^; And our first attempts at Sindragosa 25 went really pretty well. Yay, ICC progress! :D Might not be that far from seeing Lich King soon after all (the guild's 10man group's already started work on him). And in D&D, finally started on my archer's first level of deepwoods sniper. Never gotten to work with a prestige class before, so neat! It does kind of emphasize how boring I'm finding my cleric in the husband's game though >_< He's even a very fightery cleric, but I duno, there's just something so blah about it all...

(Compass). And I'd really wanted Tomcraft's Versus EP, and a there's been a few single mp3s... Criminy. Not much gets crossed off that wish list anymore. Makes me appreciate lastfm's free mp3s so very much, because even if that's stuff I've not heard of, at least it's something new to try.

On a WoW note, I will say that the removal of 'threatening' mobs from the starting zone is so unnecessary. Even for beginning toons, c'mon, level 1-6 areas are *cake*. I could do those without dying when I *started* this game. And I suuuuuuuuuuucked then. (Still do. Just with less u's.) And leveling with pretty much all the bind on account heirloom gear? (shoulders/chest with the experience bonuses, weapon, trinket) Holy cakewalk, Batman. I could lay my face on the keyboard or have one of the cats walk all over the keys, and mow down mobs/level lightning-fast without dying. Caaaaaaaaaake.
Wynnchester, the bloodelf paladin. I am such a major loser. (Too bad she can't hang out with my other alt paladin, Impala. Ahaha. I amuse me. :|) I would apologize to Sam for recreating him as a skinny female, but goddang if those belf gals don't have his bitchface *down*. Ahahaha. I amuse me again. Also, I've already recreated him as a hawt belf dude deathknight (Samuael), so there.
