one day I might even full-ass it

Eh. Half-assing the mininano/wrisomifu thing again today, because I suck with words. I like how I had this grand idea that I'd give it my all and start developing all these ideas (the superhero au, plus several others I haven't even tried to start--a cyberpunkish j2 AU, a s/d dragon/wingfic thing, a s/d Mage: the Ascension-ish sort of AU), but really other than a few days of actual inspiration and energy, I'm mostly just tossing out crap to just get it done and out of the way. So it's developing a habit, sort of, but is it a *good* or useful habit?
Would help if I weren't doing the insomnia-but-not-let-myself-sleep-in thing lately. Few hours a night followed by being kinda zombieish during the day isn't leading to being productive, much less a pleasant person for the husband and mother to deal with.
Might or might not incorporate bits of the following. ...do ordered lists even really count as fic? Huh.
An ordered list for Thanksgiving, or, 10 reasons Jared Padalecki fell in love with Jensen Ackles
1. That day he wandered into the Honors Program student lounge a month after starting his freshman year and was greeted by a quiet (green-eyed, freckled) senior studying there. (Who winked at him, after, and then blushed.)
2. When he lost his wallet when they all went to the local Ren Faire, and Jensen bought him not just one but two turkey drumsticks.
3. The time where he needed to pick up a part-time job, and Jensen put in a good word for him with his friend that managed the coffee cart in the student center; then how surprised and pleased Jensen got every time Jared snuck him free coffee when Jensen tried to buy some.
4. Jared's sophomore year, when a blizzard in town and a hurricane and associated storms hitting Texas ruined his chance to fly home for the holidays, and it looked like he'd be spending Christmas in his dorm alone--when Jensen insisted Jared come stay at his apartment during the break, since Jensen was stuck in town and unable to fly home for the same reasons.
5. And when Jared came down with theplague flu while staying there, how Jensen not only didn't send him packing back to his dorm room, but also went out in the still-blizzard conditions to stock up on Campbell's soup and Nyquil.
6. The time their whole group of friends went to the gaming and anime convention over in Iowa and they all pulled off on some middle-of-nowhere rural road on the way back to look at the stars, how Jensen showed him where to find the Pleiades and Jupiter and murmured other astronomy facts to Jared like they were the only two people there.
7. And how when Jared finally gave in and kissed him that night, how Jensen responded eagerly, like he'd been wanting it as much and as long as Jared (which he had).
8. How Jensen always acted like Jared was doing something special for him, even when Jared got him some tiny trinket gift (like the cheap metal keychain in the shape of an acoustic guitar) or could only afford to take him out to McDonald's.
9. Though he tended to be such a private, reserved person, the way Jensen agreed without any hesitation to meet Jared's family--and the way he introduced Jared to his parents and siblings that same trip.
10. That day where Jensen hugged Jared after he put on his suit and graduation robe, whispering to him how he loved him and was proud of him, when he beamed a smile bright as the sun as Jared found the ring taped on the inside of his mortarboard cap. And when that smile got even wider and more brilliant as Jared tackled him in a joyful bear-hug, whooping "Hell yes!"

Heheh, thank you muchly for the encouragement! ^^ At the rate I go though, it'll be years before I accomplish anything >_>; I will sure as heck try, though! Even if not every day like in November, I think one of my resolutions for next year will be to keep up a consistent writing habit of some sort. ...still will take me forever, though. :p

Date: 2010-11-20 05:53 am (UTC)I remember once we were visiting someone out in the middle of nowhere, so no light pollution and the stars were VIVID. Guy we were visiting even had a telescope, and one of the people with us was a high school science teacher, so he showed us so many different things. It was just so cool to see the band across the sky that's the arm of the Milky Way. We haven't gotten to do something so cool in many years now. ^^;
