Speaking of the Exploding Dog webcomic--

♥ Everything is secretly about show.

Am telling myself I don't need more icons, that it'd be such a waste of money to buy more slots. 202 should be *enough*. Except I'm at 202 once again and have more I want to add and dunno what in the beans I'll remove to make space since I really like what I have. Argh.

And damned near all of it by car, because my Dad was and is severely phobic about flying and was a fiend for roadtrips. Roadtrips for vacations, roadrips for taking Mom to different hospitals when her health was bad, roadtrips for moving (and moving back again). I've flown only a little in comparison. To be honest, I miss roadtripping. I miss interstates and highways and the scenery of America along the way. I miss motels and American food chain restaurants and tourist trap gift shops. But I'm a passenger, not a driver, and the husband isn't any better (also, he hates traveling :/ ).

Dad doesn't drive so much anymore--back and neck problems, but when he and my stepmother do take trips, that's how they do it. But he used to be such a freaking maniac for driving. He could go and go and go, like a vehicular marathoner. Sometimes we didn't even do motels--we'd just sleep as he drove until we got there (Omaha to Seattle or vice versa's 36 hours, I'm just sayin'.) All he needed was Coca Cola, someone to read the maps, and the radio. (Though I do remember one trip he needed a brief recharge, and we slept in the car at a rest stop.) In comparison, the bits of driving I've done? Hour trips to Lincoln, or the hour and a half trips to Seward or Audubon, a few hours to Kansas City. I think the longest I've ever driven was about 6 hours to Witchita, and that was too long for me. At least it was back when I tried it.

Sometimes I want to roadtrip again so much it's like an itch under my skin. What was the old slogan in that one car commercial, "Drivers wanted"? Yeah.

From Ashes, Sam/Dean, R, AU after season three, 4,031 words.
THIS. Asfdskfkf, this ♥ I wish I could write like this.

Other:
1. I am feeling uncomfortably as if I am coming down with something. *whine*

2. Got Ninevveh-mage her tome of polymorph: rabbit in WoW. Yaaaaay polybunny~ (Bleh on sheep and pig and I care not for turtle. Bunny will be my favorite 'til I can get the polymorph: black cat tome in Dalaran).

3. Craft show was cool. As usual, I look at all the crafts and buy only foodstuffs. Hollingworth Candies ♥♥♥: best toffee in the universe. Also some dessert coffee, biscotti, curry honey mustard (omfg), cheese, and this most amazing spiced chocolate fudge ever (starts with cinnamon and nutmeg, then BAM hits you with the cayenne and it is fucking awesome.)

4. I keep forgetting to mention I have a Dreamwidth account now (thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] auroraprimavera ♥)--http://whitereflection.dreamwidth.org/. So far not planning on switching or doing the crossposting thing, but it's there...just in case. And to back up my LJ. I have trouble letting LJ go, I must admit--I've got a permanent account, and I cringe at just abandoning it when I spent so much for that way back when. And the shift from 202 icons to...15? That's just ow. :< I'm such an icon hoor of Babylon. :( I need to add those of you who have DW already, but I've been lazy. Will do so eventually. The preset layout I found is so freaking pretty. I wish I could have that here, too.

5. Oh yeah, decided tonight before feeling blargh to make a sort of panzanella salad and a frittata, the first was decent and the second was pretty damned awesome. I wish there were a way I could cook for people without being in some highstress restaurant or end up a cafeteria lady. :|

6. Blargh. *whine*

Went to Don's this evening for the movie thing. Watched Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, which was actually pretty decent. As usual when watching that sort of thing, got nostalgic for the old Champions/Hero System 4-color superhero tabletop games back in college--I really miss both the system and those sorts of games. D&D's fine, but I liked superhero games best. : / Anyway. He'll be showing Sherlock Holmes next time so HELL TO THE YES for that. \o/ Can't wait. (Also, he's already planning on showing Batman: Under the Red Hood when it comes out in summer so YES YES YES to that ♥)

Also also, I knew Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day was out soon, but I didn't realize it was already out *now* OMFG. Funny how there's so much I'm careful not to spend on BUT SO BUYING THAT YES.
