Made it in to work today, but for only a half-day. Not much new, just the same ol'--stuffy, croaky, hacky, tired. It's improving, kinda, tho, slowly as always. My immune system ain't really that hot, unfortunately.

And the latest Amptguard casualty: James got his thumb jammed/whacked on on Sunday, and it seems to have a minor fracture. Truly, very very minor, but still enough to require one of those splint/tape things, and to hurt for the next couple-few weeks. Amazing what can still happen despite this stuff all being foam-padded and whatnot.

A first for the season: wasn't that cold this am, I thought, but guess it was cold enough--we had very light snow flurries briefly. Now it's just drizzle and rain, but still.

Finally, oddness/weirdness from Michael's church, the sort of thing that makes a person pause and think. See, there were these two members, Wally and Hazel. They were not always the easiest to get along with, but if anyone could be called backbone parishoners, it was them--they were amongst the founders of this church some fifty-ish years ago, they were involved in nearly everything, were there practically every day, were dedicated, devoted, and believers with a capital B. They were elderly, yes--they were in their eighties--but were quite mobile and active, there as always last Sunday. Well, Wally died in his sleep last night of a massive stroke, and this morning Hazel died of a massive heart attack, not long after writing an essay about his and her life together.

Just a coincidence, perhaps. But also still enough to make one stop for awhile, to ponder and wonder.o
