Behind my eyes,
I lie on rolling hills of
softly rustling daydreams,
gazing up into the blue sea-sky
and watching thoughts of you
drift by.
Reaching for you,
far beyond the golden horizon of my thoughts,
I stretch out my hand
and feel my wish
gusting silken between my fingers
(that crave to touch you,
to brush your hair gently away from your face...)
then slipping, tumbling away
from my grasp.
Far in the distance,
a lone stand of trees
standing sentinel over my shaded heart
hiss-whisper how much I miss you
as I breathe out.
