Ummm, the weekend thus far.
Jul. 28th, 2002 10:30 amLessee here... Friday, work kinda sucked as I was still dealing with the decongestant, and had much trouble functioning until it was worked outta my system. But we watched the CCS movie off DVD at Katherine's and that was cool. And I made 'em watch Dig icharat--they are so damned hooked. ^^ I loved their reactions. Katherine adores Kimura/Mr. Long Hair, but then again, I knew she would, what with his seiyuu. Her general reaction was "This is so wrong" followed by handing me a tape to make a copy onto. ^^ Anj was hooked from the get-go, and is a huge Puchiko fan now. Kelly was hooked pretty early on, too, and is now trying to perfect the "Party Night" dance. Heh. So many copies to make... :)
Saturday was rather not fun, at first. Had to get up and do bills--and then I remembered, oh yeah James' dad is going to be stopping into town the 30th-31st on his drive from Pennsylvania to California to visit his parents. And oh yeah, that's this Tuesday and Wednesday. Holy shzzit! So much housecleaning ensued--including three hours of vacuuming. No lie. Goddamned cats. >< Now I'm in mega, mega pain--yes, it's because I'm an out-of-shape wuss, but still. Doth sucketh. Also got into a nice screaming match with James, but that did seem to settle down ok. Then tried to make something fun of the evening--went to the diner-type place Cozmo's for the usual food (they have kickass onion rings and killer, *killer* custard style ice cream), then hung out with Anj and watched some eps of the Silent Mobius TV series.
Man, if you're ever tempted to watch Silent Mobius *DO*. Tho I think the TV series is a bit better than the original two OAVs. But this is a series that first hooked me as a translated manga back when I was in college. I was so nuts over it, that it even was the first untranslated manga I ever bought--though I'm reminded I only have through the 8th tankubon, and need to get the rest. But hey, what's not to like--a cyberpunk sorta futuristic world, some cool supernatural and demon elements, kickass female characters, an interesting history and story, and did I mention the kickass female characters? It's so damned nice to see women with depth and strength, and who can be sexy (I love Kia Asamiya's character designs) and yet still wear clot hing, can have breasts, and yet not jiggle. And yes, I want cels. Muchly. Right now, Kiddy Phenil and Rally Cheyenne are my favorites--back in college Lebia Maverick used to be the one I worshipped, but now I *so* dig Rally. She's scary cool. :D
Anyway, today is the continuation of Weekend of Laundry. I hate when I decide to do bedding and blankets. >< Makes me flinch when the water bill comes. Not that I'm not already flinching at the electric bill, after the last month of solid airconditioning--damned constant 90s/100s are expensive. :p Oh yeah, and it's Don's DnD game today, too. Yeesh, I need to try and work in guitar practice somewhere, too--with being sick this past week, then busy, I've not done much in the way of practicing. Dammit. >_< Bad me.
...hm, I should go back to Hot Topic and get that sticker about the one-legged space chickens. ^^
