you are my signal fire
May. 24th, 2007 04:02 pmHad that appt. today for more bloodwork with the endocrinologist, including a glucose challenge thing. Fasting for half the day plus that grosstastic orange drink (like extra sweet flat orange pop and/or that crap orange pseudokoolaid McDonald's always gave schoolkids) did not equal great fun. Did get a lot of On The Road read waiting here for the 2hrs. until the second blood draw. Blood sugar's still wacked out and not super stable, am either starving or comatose post-eating something.
Took the aft. as vacation to allegedly recover from that, but ended up going to the groc store twice (yay for forgetting things), to Walmart for bedding (gdi, Costco, get built here soon please), making the bed, bagging up the old comforter and pillows for trash, and starting what's going to be like four loads of laundry. Did find at the grocery store that Blue Bunny is doing these individual containers of gelato and asfsfkj yeah I like. I shouldn't have gotten some (one of each flavor >_>) but it's been a day, and it's going to be a 3day weekend.
Speaking of buying, I blame sjen of sjenhasnopants for pimping the website where VAST CDs are sold in downloadble mp3 format. Had to get their new one (April) and a couple old ones I didn't have yet (A Complete Demonstration and Turquoise & Crimson). Even though I am always crochety at the iTunes store for not having things in a sharable format, still getting the craving for raiding there again--I need the new Snow Patrol song, Signal Fires. I *NEEEEEEEEEEEEED* it. (Yeah, it's gone on my mental AkuRoku FST) Also, they have My Latest Novel's Wolves CD there *grabby hands*, and that Tim Armstrong song, Into Action. And I keep craving Creedence Clearwater Revival when I'm in a decent mood, want to pick up a greatest hits/best of if they have. Between what I've already gotten, what I'm probably gonna get by this weekend, and my guild buddy sharing more Epica, I'm kinda set for a bit. ...Ahahahahaha. As if. (And ffs, I still haven't worked my way fully through all that Coyo-music, why'm I continually going for more?)

Date: 2007-05-28 02:49 pm (UTC)And wow, I had no idea the iTunes store was so complicated! I've never actually used them before, but I guess I sort of assumed their files were in m4a format or something. Weird! So I guess this means iTunes (the program) can't convert them to mp3 either. *thinks about it* Wow, that's kind of evil! *eyes them* Still, for the convenience and the price, I'm sure they're worth it...
And heeee...I may actually have another updated list to send you sometime soon--I've got another 15 gigs to go thru this week, and damn it, I'm running out of space on my external! I so need to get a bigger drive next month...it'll be my present to myself for breaking down and going to the dentist, heh...
But yeah, I know exactly what you mean about "so much music, and none of it I want to listen to!" After a while you just get spoiled by novelty; that's the best way I can think of to put it, cos I've so totally been in the same boat more times than I can count! It's like...you know there's new and interesting stuff out there, and you can't help thinking that you're missing some magical, perfect album that's going to make the whole day full of awesome if you could just hear it. Or soemthing. *grins* Then again, it's also safe to say that I have a short attention span. Oh look...butterflies! *lunges away from the keyboard*
But yeah, Google's always the first place I turn if it's an mp3 I'm looking for--you know the trick, right? "parent directory mp3 [band name/song]"? Hahaha, I'm such a bad influence... *sheepish* I used to use that to go trolling for new bands, honestly--stick "radiohead" into that equation, and you'll get a zillion hits, and Radiohead usually isn't the only thing folks have up if they're got a music folder. Found Iron & Wine and Cinerama that way, among others! Woot! *fist in air*
Ah well, I'm awake enough to be starving now, so off I run... Seriously, make another list if you want to, or you can wait until I send you the updated one next weekend if you want to test your willpower, hee...but either way, don't feel guilty, cos I wouldn't offer if I didn't want to do it! *huggles*
