whitereflection: (everything is great)
Still not king no job. Have at least had one interview (still don't feel like I should count the one from the 'hiring service'/temp agency), but it was meh. I'd done two apps for lab positions at the zoo, and thought it was for the one I had more of a shot at. But no, it was for the job I felt I had no chance in hell at but was apping anyway. Have been doing the two apps a week thing, and claiming unemployment (though it's not started awarding benefits yet), but nothing else responding, other than one letter from one job saying no.

Mom's settling in well, and I can't express how much I'm glad she's around. She gives the cats tons of attention (and brushes the princess cat Missy like every day). She's helped me on lawn sprinkling and half the time does the entire thing (it's been having to be done every day, since a recent overseeding, to get the crap to germinate). She got all the stuff bagged up to be given to the Vets group that comes around for donations when I'd forgotten. Hell, she even managed to poke James into dealing with the pile of clothes on his dresser that'd been there a year. It really, really, really all helps. As does having someone help share the expenses. Can she stay forever, plz?

Other than that, there's been a minor leak from the tub that comes down through the 2nd fl. floor/basement ceiling. James has said for some time he needed to recaulk around the fixtures and around the tile/tub in one spot. So he did, and the leak got much worse. /headwall He now wants to recaulk over another area. Fine. But if it does not work, I am so calling a plumber to verify if it's pipes or if it's tile wall related. James has already yelled that I'm trying to ram a tub/wall refitting down his throat (I've been suggesting it since the leak became an issue again, friend of ours just had it done--it's where they put a new tub/shell over the existing tub and wall). But frankly if recaulking doesn't work, we *NEED* either an entirely new tub/wall which means tearing out the old, or we need this refitting, which does not involve tearing out the old, just fitting over the new. This is something that can't be ignored. Every time it leaks, it's water damage on wood, and hell if I'm having a second bathroom get so bad we'd have to tear it out and redo (like the shower downstairs that will not be used until we have enough to pay for drywall redo and shower/wall redo).

Cox comes tomorrow to switch our phone/internet/cable. Phone number will not change, but my kurama e-mail will go poof. If anyone's got me in their e-mail address books, it's just the shinizero at yahoo one then. Even if I start a Cox home mail, I probably won't bother using it. Hopefully Cox won't screw anything up, and we won't have any tv/internet interruption. /crosses fingers, makes sacrifice, laughs self silly

Game is still game. Got my hunter to 70, made her flying machine helicopter thing, forked out the gold to right away make it an epic (fastest) one. Now she's even 1337er herb and mote gatherer. Many bumps in the road of being this 'raid coordinator' rank--lots of hubbubs lately, from former raid lead getting fed up and giving the role to someone else, to a pissy applicant, to a pissy asshole old member that I think is finally getting the boot. Still amazed after all these years how a game where people come to escape is so often stress.

So much new music I want. Not being able to just get what strikes my fancy is sucking hard. Did get the new Sigur Ros stuff though, as sort of a birthday thing. I've got a bit from my brother that I could spend. Might try to chase down the new ES Posthumus CD (though that will be tough...been out such a short time, and it's now no longer in stock at amazon. Would have to go through the new/used vendors they list and see who's offering.)
