Dude. >_o Just was pulling bound periodicals from recent shipments from the bindery to check in, and found a massive gob of gum--fairly fresh--on one of the shelves. What the hell? I'm hoping to hell it fell out of someone's mouth accidentally, because otherwise that'd mean someone who has access to our staff area placed it deliberately. Even if it was accidental--again, staff area, so who? Seriously, what the hell.

Grouchy like crazy this am, but the caffeine might be kicking that some. Yee.

Also. I WANT TO FANGIRL FFXII SO MUCH. *SO*. Afraid to say anything though. >_< Even if I speak in the vaguest and most general of terms, I'm afraid of spoilering. Wonder how long I should wait before being able to say anything. Maybe I can try something behind a cut when I have a bit more time. SO wish I had someone to babble on it with--though did spend a half hour geeking about it with Kel and Anj after coming to work this am though. (So worth the money getting the collector's ed game and ce guide, imo. I gots the pirate on my guide cover! :D :D :D ♥ Kel got Vaan on hers. ^_^♥!) I will say one thing though--the pairings potential in this game is HUGE, no matter what floats your boat ♥)

So glad I have to go home early to let the furnace guy in. I WANTS TO PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY~

Oh, holy 'eck D: I have to go to that Managing Emotions workshop next Friday. Yeugh. All day thing, too. Can't believe work's willing to pay a hundred bucks (no lie) for me to go.
whitereflection: (axel don't like j00 none grr)
Figures--came home to an answering machine message that the furnace technician had called in sick, so wouldn't be out for the maintenance appointment after all. Decided against going back to work since that'd mean 30 min there and later 30 min back, after already doing that once today (yeah, screw that), so just ran errands the past few hours (so much for game-playing). Changed the furnace filter since I'd forgotten the past 6 mo (and by forgotten I mean "asked the ditwad to do it and he spaced me off yet again, and I forgot to check back and see if it was done for 6mo" These things always end up as "Di does it", except for the few things I put my foot down and nag on a weekly if not more basis to actually accomplish his responsibilities.)

TANGENT, RIGHT. Anyway. Promised the furnace people will come Monday instead, and they promise an extra late appt in the day so I don't have to take off as much work. Still not happy to have to ask for more time off, feel like I've been doing that far too much lately. Doesn't look good, esp to a supervisor new to me, imo. And what with losing all of next Friday and Wednesday afternoon (stupid strategic planning meeting), it cuts yet more into shortened work time. If it's at this week's levels, maybe that'll be fine. Just hope to not get hit with too much, have been much more conscious (read: twitchy) about anything remaining on the shelves for any length of time.

Grumpy like nuts again (maybe it never really went away), have had a "rrrrrrrr" mental voice going since coming home. Rrrrrrrgh. Only little minor things, so am irritable far more than I should be. Also can't be bothered with proper grammar, spelling, or punctuation, I notice.

AHAHAHA, automated telemarketing call, does that not frost the gd cake. SPAM MY PHONE NOT, FIENDS. >:EEEE (Bad enough my email spam has like doubled recently on both accounts, wtfh.)
whitereflection: (axel i would miss you)
Finally read Pratchett's latest, Wintersmith, and really liked it, very much. But then again I love anything to do with the Nac Mac Feegles (Wee Free Men). Lot of good quotes in the book (definitely a few good ones in the chapter involving some travelling librarians), but this one near the end really struck me:

"And, as always happens, and happens far too soon, the strange and wonderful becomes a memory and a memory becomes a dream. Tomorrow it's gone." (p.313)

...yeah.
