in which the fish bite back
Jan. 4th, 2005 09:02 amMmm, at least I feel alive today. Not perfect, but some better. Yesterday, I was so tired I seriously though I'd cry--I think only sheer stubbornness and the fact it was the first day back kept me at work. Slept most of the evening, then crashed early. Though...haha, I should just sell my bed and sleep on the couch. Seriously. On the couch, I slept solidly for hours, despite the lights and TV being on. In bed, in the dark with it being quiet except for the white noise of the air filter--damned dreams came back again, waking me up a bunch.
Eventually I woke myself up and just lay there, telling myself it wasn't real, I was in bed not at the computer, etc. Of course then I couldn't get back to sleep for an hour. At least it wasn't as stressy of dreams as the night before last but still--so many times I sleep fine on the couch, and poorly in bed. If it were just me, I think I wouldn't bother with a bed at all. I'm kind of thinking of putting an alarm clock down by the loveseat there, so on nights when insomnia hits or the dreaming gets too bad I can just lay down there and still have a way to make sure I get up on time.
Was tempting to go down and start WoW-fishing until I got drowsy again--I think only the fact it was so cold in the house stopped me from doing so. No better way to bring about sleep than fishing in a computer game. Yeah.
Streets are just clearing of the icy-rain stuff, but they're talking sleet and flurries today, maybe a lot of snow tomorrow. I actually rather hope it snows--today and Thursday my schedule's insane at work here, but I'd be real tempted to call in tomorrow if the weather's bad. (Though I shouldn't at all, I know--our backlog of books to catalog is bad, I'm slammed by maps like I thought I'd be, and periodicals to be security tagged are being dumped on us...)
