What was that about 'best laid plans'?
Jan. 26th, 2003 07:24 pmSo much for the James-Amptguard and Di gets things done plan. *flails* Finally realized oh yeah, it's Don's DnD game today. Bah. Guess I put off acquiring new jeans until next weekend. Was hoping to get other "Di off her own and needs downtime" stuff done, but oh well.
Turned out to be not too bad of a game--especially since our plot to deal with some bad guys in a small space when we had time to set up worked. Meaning, my druid got to summon allosauruses (many) and have them chew on evil minions. It was amusing--especially in conjunction with a spell by Greg's characters that had a couple bad guys disrobing due to a missed saving throw. Gotta love that. Though we still have the big-big fight coming up, but at least it's worked for some minor combatage, and amused us in the process.
And we finally got to give Greg and Pat their Christmas gifts (gee, not that late, were we? :p ) But next week will be Leslie's DnD game, so no getting anything done next Sunday either. Gotta take Crystal in to the vet for dental exam/cleaning, so that will have me up early next Saturday. Least I won't have to do laundry or vaccuum that weekend.
I made some progress on hiragana during the game, so I don't feel the day was entirely wasted. Now I'm up through the 'ha' series (ie. know about 30), and the next few series shouldn't be too hard--I recognize many of them already from the manga reading I've been doing. Just a matter of learning how to write them. Maybe I'll be able to start on katakana soon.
Have seen some amusing Superbowl commercials (have it on the background here, and they had it on during Don's game), but nothing hugely spectacular yet. Except the commercial/trailer for the Matrix movies. HEL-LO! *flails in geekish ecstacy* With Matrix Reload in May, Matrix Revolutions in November, and the LoTR in December, it will be a happy year. God, I can't wait for the Matrix movies. Can *not* wait. Must start plotting for first available midnight showings now... *ponders*d
