Escapism

I'm strangely content to be going back to work today. It's become a hideout place of sorts for me, oddly enough, the place where I feel like I'm escaping to. That just trips me out. I mean, it's a good thing I just tolerate my job and not really, truly like it, or I might become the worst sort of workaholic. As it is, I mostly just hide in my cubicle, crank up the iPod, work some and goof around some, and try not to draw attention. But it is rather weird-feeling to realize how much I sometimes drag my feet on going home--like I'd rather keep just messing around on my computer here than there. Eh.

One for the joys of homeownership file--the upstairs toilet is leaking from the base, so we're going to have to get a plumber over to look at it. Guess we'll have them look at the water softener too, see if that can be made functional again. I can see the dollar signs drifting away now, especially adding in Crystal's vet visits this week (bloodwork Wednesday evening, the actual dental cleaning Saturday).

Least I got a nice chance to be distracted and reconnect with some folks last night. Finally got to say hi to Kea, and hang out with Nix, Brandon and Sue. That was cool--and man, very nice after missing Nix so bad of late. Need my Niiiiiiix... *drapes/glomps onto Nix and gnaws on her* Perhaps I will get to actually talk to Rei tonight--that would so fscking rock. :D I just gotta make sure to stay awake-like. *flails*
