Spent time contemplating the moon and Mars again while I walked this am. Dunno why...sometimes I can't keep from staring at the ground, other times I can't drag my gaze from the sky. *scratches head* Obsessive, much? Though I can kind of see the reddish tint on Mars that Michael was mentioning to me. But just barely, barely. Maybe it'd be easier to see if I had binoculars or a telescope, or if I were at least wearing my glasses. Heard that some of Michael's parishoners are going up to Neale Woods Observatory Wedneday night after next to check it all out with their large telescope...maybe I'll go with.
Reminds me of when we all used to visit Michael in Central City, during those college years ages (*coughs*) ago. He lived literally in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of miles from any of the larger towns, much less cities. It was a house, a church, some cows, and a mass of cornfields and pastures. >_o But when he dragged out the telescope he used to own, this massive thing...man. And to look up even without the telescope, just with the naked eye...I can't describe it, not a bit. It was just...huge, immense, awesome. The reality of "and the sky was full of stars" or whatever that quote was. There are very few nights in my life where I have seen the sky be that enormous, that brilliant, where I could see just *everything*. When you look up, and you see every glittering light, when you can actually see the arm of the Milky way stretched out and arcing above you, I swear you can fall upwards forever.
It isn't the same, looking up here in Omaha. It's all so dim and you can see so little. But the moon and Mars still fascinates me every morning. Wish I'd been able to see the meteor showers all those times they were happening.
[/obsess]
Anyway. Got my iTrip deal in the mail, so once I add its files to the iTunes software, I should be able to give it a test run in the car. Also got some djs I'd ordered from this gal online--the MomoRyo is cute, the OishiEiji incredibly charming and sweet (also has the most gorgeous cover, I swear...). And in kind of a lucky thing, the dj Kea'd wanted that we got for free because of "damage" looks to be in almost perfect condition. Unless there's something I'm missing, the damage was just a very small bit of marker on the front cover. I'd say that's not a bad deal. Still annoyed that I missed those other two djs for her.
Speaking of DJs, I hear Kea received a box of certain something recently...*coughsboinkcoughs* Hehhhhhh...god, I want I want I want I want I want... I like my two new I got, but I want InuKai ones. Want want want want want... Ehhh, obsess much (again)?
Am really in the mood to write something InuKai. But don't know if I'll have the chance anytime soon. >_< Who knows how long it will take to get interacting much with the other gal in that RP. Not to mention...she really is a bit high school. So lord knows how much I'll be able to sink teeth into the play of it. Not that I'm much good at Kaido, but to interact with a well-done Inui...hmmmmmmmm. *sighs, ponders* There is just so many interesting ways to explore the interactions between those two...so many layers to them. Rar.
Um. [/obsess] Again again.
Man, was trying to pull back from being quite so fangirl-fangeek, but I seem to be slipping back into it again. Criminy.
