Advance showings of the Matrix: Reloaded start tomorrow evening. *insert maniacal laughter here* There were showings at 10:05 and 10:30...and guess who finally pounced on some tickets for the 10:30 showing? *more maniacal laughter to be inserted here* >D Yep, I and James, Anj, and Michael get to take the red pill tomorrow evening. Or was it the blue pill? I forget. Haven't eaten dinner and so I'm going a bit low on the blood sugar, which makes for oddness and memory issues. ^^ Anyhoo, I'm dragging Michael along with as I'm skipping meeting with him to see the movie--so I figured I owed it to him, or something.
Matrix! Matrix Matrix Matrix Matrix...! Eh, you'll have to forgive me. The first movie ate my brain, and I've been dying for the sequels ever since. I'm very excited about this one finally being out. (Doesn't show much, eh?) I hope I like it as much as I think I will, and I don't have some sort of Phantom Menace experience. ^^;;
Anyway...what's been up? Work is really busy. Saturday I finally did that vaccuuming I was bitching about. But it already is starting to look messy in here again. Bah. :p Did a brief zoo walk with Anj, then she, James, Gina and I watched the final episodes of Silent Mobius--which, sadly, turned out to be rather blah and disappointing. The characters got stupid, the plot holes got big, and a lot was left hanging unresolved. I hate when shows do that. So yeah, there was some MiSTing and some razzing the TV. ^^; Sunday was a kind busy around the house day, though I did putter with a tiny bit of acrylic painting. I should have been doing stained glass stuff, I know, but this just called to me. I hope to putter again on it, soon. Or on some-other-thing creative. Something. Gotta finish that stupid glass work, and get doing more. It's bugging me how long it's been left to sit. Gah.
And no one mention my guitar right now. Bah. (Poor neglected Unmei. *sighs darkly* I suck.)
Got to talk and hang out briefly with some folks Sunday night. That was cool. :) (*hugs* to you all!) Though I got a monster headache that evening that refused to go away until sometime Monday night. Motrin by the bucketful and sleep just didn't help. That wasn't fun, especially when a book fell on my head at work Monday. >_<; It was a sneak attack, see...I had leaned down to pick up a different book that had fallen, when one from the highest shelf attacked the back of my head. Wasn't a hardbound, but felt kinda like it. Yeek. The resulting "OW!" was loud enough that it got the attention of our student worker, my supervisor, and the department chair. ^^;;; But that particular shelf (Mixed Media) is now moved to a place where someone short like me doesn't have to reach above their head to get stuff. Eh heh. #^^#
Umm, what else? Oh, one of my good coworkers in Cataloging got the Employee of the Year Distinguished Service Award from the Friends of the Library. w00t! And our student worker got co-Student Employee of the year (along with a really good person from the Documents department). So it was a Bibliographic Access sweep, I guess you could say. :) Our student really deserves that sort of award--I'm glad I got campaigning for folks in my area to nominate him.
Had to tell someone I wasn't letting their post through on the AzuDai fanfic group. I hatehatehate to do that, but...even though it was something short, it made a reference to one of the characters having killed themselves. I'm sorry, but that just *does not* fit into the AD universe, not the show, not the manga. AD is lighthearted, warmfuzzy stuff. And while serious and dramatic is fine, that level of angst or ick just isn't, not on our yahoogroup anyway. But I told them in a really nice way, and encouraged them to write other stuff--and to mail the fic directly to the author that had inspired it, or to post it in a comment in their lj. It's not that I want to supress their writing--I just don't think the AzuDai fic group is the right place for that topic. *flails* Moderator things make me really nervous. I don't want to mess up anyone's fun, but I want to hold to the ground rules we set up (and which are noted on the group's intro page, and on my welcome message--which I just reposted ^^; )
Egads, I still need to package up Mom's Mother's Day stuff. I so suck. My head just hurt too bad yesterday and the evening before. *flails* Man, I gotta go do that. And I gotta eat. I'm getting too loopy fruits from lack of food. >_<;; Rar. Hm and the headache's threatening to come back...could be the thunderstorms moving through. And the blasted awful pollen outside. Curse you, nature! Curse you!
...anyway.
Matrix. >D Okay, sorry, I'll stop.

Date: 2003-05-14 03:39 am (UTC)Teacher: "Umm... yes. The Matrix has a LOT to do with fascism. Which is a major topic in World History. Who wants to see it tomorrow at 9 in the morning"
Everyone else: "YES!"
Me: "Bleargh! Why did I not take World History?! ;-;"
Nyurr... I'll see it eventually...
And yes, Nature hates us at times... (I've got allergies and get some aching joints in high pressure also) But isn't it worth it when all of the grass becomes emerald green, and the trees sprout flowers, and there's still no bugs? ^^
Re:
Date: 2003-05-15 04:47 pm (UTC)Heh. Yeah, I suppose it's worth it. Though I am still searching for the right meds that will pummel said allergies into submission. *nods* But especially I agree on the no bugs part. I detest the time of year that mostquitos and yellowjackets start showing up. >p
