I should have expected it, as this is the way it *always* happens around here--we got enough snow to be annoying, but not so much to close UNO. It ended up being only 4 1/2 inches, much less than what they were predicting--I guess it lightened up and then stopped a few hours after starting. Area public and private schools are closed all the way from Lincoln through Omaha and into Iowa, but naturally none of the colleges shut down. >_< Not even us, which though we claim to be such a major dorm-oriented school, those only serve, what, 3 percent of UNO's population?--with the rest having to drive in from all over Omaha and up to a hour or so away. As I say, bah.

Sometimes we'll shut down, but only if UNL or Creighton does--our administration always sees what the other major U's and minor colleges (like Metro, Bellevue, and IWCC) do, then make a decision. We never, ever take the initiative--whoa, that would take a spine, and caring about students and staff/faculty. :p I guess I'm just jealous that all the lower level schools got to stay home--the superintendent was tougher when I was in jr/sr high, and tended not to close unless it was at least 6-8 inches. No fair.

Anyhoo, I kinda guessed all this, so I got up an hour early (5am is an *unholy* hour), and after getting ready we had time to shovel the driveway and sidewalks. I know I shall pay for that later with much hurting and pain. >_< Got on the road a half hour early, and the main streets were cleared enough that I treated myself to some MacDonald's comfort food. Mmmm, bacon-egg-cheese bagel...heart attack onna stick, mmmmmmmm...*Homer Simpson gurgles* But other than that, everything is very normal. Gotta get my pkg from the post office later this afternoon, and I am so so hoping I'm right that it's my cels. :D Then we should still be able to do dinner with Dad, so long as things stay clear. Wonder if I'll crash early tonight--guess that remains to be seen.

Oh, and I knew there were certain characters in Fruits Basket I would like, but I was rather surprised at the intensity of the Haru-obsession/lust I developed last night. Gods, is that character *drool*worthy. Let's just say he smacked my brain on its figurative ass and said, "Hi, I'm living here now. Beeyatch." >D Mmmmrrryow! *hee*
