Criminy, the complaining at spnparty and Youtube about the cover of Carry On My Wayward Son. DEAL WITH IT, PEOPLE. As they say in online gaming, QQ MOAR. I mean honestly, do people not even consider copyright issues or the costs of trying to get rights to music like that? It simply might be prohibitive for them.

Or...get ready for this. You know how whenever, I mean EVER any time anime is brought over to the US by official licensing, it's almost always given new music up to and including new theme songs? Guess what, it happens in reverse, too, for the exact same reasons--copyright, cost issues of buying rights, MAKING IT APPROACHABLE TO THE AUDIENCE IT'S AIMED AT. All the times that anime, movies, TV programs brought in from other countries, it's almost always altered to make it more approachable/understandable for Americans. So yeah, other countries do it, too. So get freaking over it, ugly Americans. Copyright and cost issues aside, they might be doing to it what we do to programs we import or programs we redo (like say, British comedies, The Office, anyone?)--make it to be more appealing to themselves. We can't alter/adjust all the stuff we import or redo from other countries, and then freak out when another country does it to our programming.

And you know what? I kind of liked it. :p I like covers, I like hearing music interpreted by artists/groups from other countries (like the mp3 of Amazing Grace I've got done by a Japanese female vocalist for an anime soundtrack). Broaden your freaking horizons, people. Not everything we do is sacred and never to be changed (*especially* considering the whole that's what we do to every other country's media concept).

I try so hard to avoid reading comments at that comm, but goddang, I've been slipping today and GRRRRRRR. It makes me so wharrgarbl. :( (Up to and including regarding some of the spoilers posted, and I just love how for a shipping free comm, all you see is people being all up with their ships. But of course the Wincest sure seems unwelcome --yeah, they can cheer on all their ships, but certain other fans sure'd better not or they'd have a collective cow).

Also, speaking of. Reminded today that that one rec comm I follow is so freaking one ship only anymore. I *really* miss what a mix it used to be. I need to either drop it, or figure out how to only track certain tags from it like santacarlagypsy recommended. Except man, I'd get like what, one post a week, maybe? They should just make it a single ship community officially and get it over with.

And yes, I'm bitchy. : / That time hit like a fucking truck, and until I could slam 600mg of ibuprofen I basically couldn't walk upright and had to be doing pseudolamaze breathing for the pain all morning. That, plus the I AM ANGRY AT EVERYTHING I HATE PEOPLE mood, I have not been a good person to be around at all. My poor mother. At least the husband gets to be at work. I am a horrible, horrible person--then there's hormones, and I get *worse*.


FFFFFFFFFFF. ETA. So then my *other* rec comm just had a post up, where the reccer didn't put a pairing on a rec. Honestly, I wouldn't have clicked through if I would have known which it was, because while I don't care that others like it, I DON'T. Fuck, it's like this fandom just assumes EVERYONE is a fan of that ship or something, so why should they label it. What the hell is wrong with these rec comms anymore. They used to be so good, so mixed, and so careful to list things clearly. :(

I won't lie--the attitudes from the 'bad' sorts of fans are making me more and more OTP, in a way, like defensively or something. :/ Because *my* favorite pairing, we have to be like super careful and warn and we're looked down on for liking it--and theirs? Anymore it seems to be okay to shove it in non-fans faces, if not down our throats. Let me just say that those of you who're fans of certain ships on my flist that are considerate, that you like it/love it without acting like you assume that I do or should also, don't give me heck about what I do like, well I seriously love you a lot. I wish all fandom could be like you.

I looks like it could be awesome, especially the monsters. The shapeshifter (I'm guessing that's what it is near the end there) is so freaking gross! This is the advantage of anime, they can up the creepy factor without needing a huge budget. And the cover doesn't bother me. I'm actually kind of disappointed there aren't any obvious Japanese accents, frankly.

And yes, I saw this on ontd_spnparty too. I hardly ever post a comment there though exactly because of all the negativity. I have to admit though, some of the comments can be pretty hilarious (just not on that particular post). But don't get me started on all the Dean/Lisa love there - it makes me want to hurl>:(

I think the whole thing looks terrible. I have always hated anime though and any kind Japanese cartoons etc. There's just something about it I don't like XD
