They're coming to get us! Waaaaaaaugh!

whitereflection^^; Er. Um. Gomen. Saw Signs last night--and you know, it's really trippy-freaky-creepy-shivery cool! :D Part of the ending is a touch weak, but the fact that it has a rather cool message makes up for that. There are some interesting characters in that movie, and they actually bother to give them some personality development and growth--you don't see that hugely often. There's even some humor, if a bit dark at times, but I can dig it. ^^ I'd see it again, and probably will when it hits the dollar theaters and Anj and Gina decide to go.
Gotta admit, I'm a wuss when it comes to suspense, tho. ^^; I jump and startle so easily sometimes--and now today, when I'm in the house alone, I get tripped out by all the odd noises. Which there are many, of course, since I have four cats. *grins* Ah well.
But today is a day where I can goof off for the most part alone, since James is at Nuke Con, a little gaming con in town here run by some friends of ours. Gotta run some errands, and hit Dick Blick Art Supplies so I can get another Itoya portfolio to put the cels I've been getting in--but then I think I'm gonna just wander off to the zoo. :D I haven't been there since spring, and have only seen that new Desert Dome pavillion once. Time to hit that, the Rainforest building, the acquarium, etc. Wonder what they have at the Imax. :) Aha, a link for the Henry Doorly Zoo: http://www.omahazoo.com/
And if Anj gets back from her Dad's in time tonight, she and Gina and I might get together for more Azumanga Daioh. Which would be most cool. ^__^ I'm frighteningly addicted to that show, and to the manga, which we found a bit of translated--in manga form, it's actually a four-panel strip. They carry that feel over into the show, which is comprised of something to the effect of 'mini-episodes' which have a continuity, but only loose, short story-arcs. I really do have to get folks to watch it--it's addictive fun, and cute-funny sort of stuff. I so need to find out if it's got cels. ^^
