B'awww. Yeah, I gotta pony up the ten bucks. :|

Sporting a couple of new bruises, thanks to dealing with the branch that took out our power line Wednesday. One on my shoulder from carrying (one part of the branch took two of us to carry, the main part took all three of us to get it from the back out to the driveway), and one on my leg where part smacked against it repeatedly when I was trying to brace it while James sawed part off (handsaw, we don't have a chainsaw). Not sure what we're going to do with the branch debris (see the no chain saw bit), but since our driveway's wide we can leave it all sit there maybe until I can get someone over to prune the storm damage and run that stuff through a chipper.

I do need to remember to call Cox in addition to the power company about the power line--even with the branch off the cable line, it's still hanging down so low to drape over the fence and touch the ground. I'm surprised it's working. Even though it wasn't pulled away from the house like the power line, it's so stretched. >_o

Beware of stupid WoW babble:
Omgomgomg won the Kalu'ak fishing derby on Ak, woooooooooooooooooooooo \o/ That is such a pain in the *butt* to accomplish. Then I only had one thing left to get his Accomplished Angler (http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1516) achievement--the rare fish/One That Didn't Get Away one. I've been trying for a Dark Herring (http://www.wowhead.com/item=44703) since WotLK started, and have never managed it, but after hours of fishing in the afternoon, got it :D (of all the rare fish, it's one of the few to be a weapon, I mean it's a dagger but it looks like a fish, so you can kill things *with a fish* \o/ ) So *FINALLY* Ak has Accomplished Angler and thus the title of "Salty". This amuses me more than it should. (What can I say--I'm one of the few WoW players that *likes* fishing. I even max the skill out on all my alts. If there was anyone that should try to get that achievement, it's me--and it was driving me nuts after working on it these past couple years that I still hadn't finished it. :p Felt so lucky yesterday, I nearly went and bought a lottery ticket. :p :p )

Congrats!

I love fishing! Actually, my HUNTER loves fishing. There's something so deeply satisfying about hanging out with my pet to protect me, casting, listening for the quiet sound of a biting fish, getting stacks of fish and tossing one to my pet every now and then when she gets hungry.

But I never have caught any rare fish. No Mr. Pinchy, no Sea Turtle mount, no Dark Herring. *sighs deeply* RNG is not my friend.

I almost accidentally fished up The Lurker my first time raiding Serpentshrine. We pulled up to the water and people started re-buffing, eating, etc. Since, on a hunter, there's nothing to DO, I automatically pulled out my fishing pole. Luckily, people in my raid type fast ...

Ohman, your luck is awful! :( I always thought RNG hated me, but I've always managed to beat my head against the wall enough to get them at least once. So I can't seem to manage rare things on any of my alts, but at least I've got those on Ak. (Though RNG hated me this past midsummer festival--I couldn't get the new elemental pet to drop from the ice boss at all, even though I went every day but one.)

The bit bout the Lurker cracks me uuuuuup. Nice that people were able to respond quick, because the sort of guild I ran with in BC would have been so flummoxed we would have wiped. XD; And isn't that ironic, considering how usually when *trying* to fish up Lurker, it takes a group cast after cast after cast. :p

Yay, someone who likes fishing, though ♥ I get razzed so much by other people for enjoying it, they think I'm nuts. ^^; It's one of the reasons my very first toon in vanilla levelled slow in my first guild. Other folks would want to quest or do 5mans together, and I'd be like, no go without me, I need a fishing night. ^^;; Was alliance then, and I loved fishing in Booty Bay (especially early in the day), Menethil Harbor, and Tanaris. I've been trying to ignore levelling it on my current deathknight alt, but I think I'm about to give in, heh.

It's a good way to chill out when things get hectic, that's for sure. And I like being able to provide useful food for everyone!

It bugs me that Wintergrasp is the only single place you can fish up everything for a Fish Feast, because I HATE getting PVP'd while fishing! Monsters don't really mess with my Zen, but player's do.

Good lord, YES. *SO* much yes to this statement. I won't just hang out and fish in WG, but I will go for the one daily quest. But I don't like doing it--makes me nervous and tense. Guess I'm a masochist (or just really want to contribute fish feasts to the guild), because I'm doing that on two characters now. I figure, why not take my 72 toon, because I already die to other players on my 80 so not like waiting until then will keep me from being ganked on her.

Just reminds me though, why I dislike the whole PVP situation. I spent vanilla on a PVE server, start of BC I gave a PVP server a try with some friends. Only reason I got to 70 was because I stuck it out for those friends. It was the most miserable experience of my life, and nearly made me quit WoW entirely. In fact that toon (Ak, still my current main) nearly got retired, until a RL friend convinced me to server transfer to the PVE server where he played.

But the PVP server, I couldn't *enjoy* solo questing (though I still did so, because all my guildmates outlevelled me : /) which is my favorite way to level, had to turn off music despite it being one of the things I love so much about the game because I had to listen for stealth, couldn't relax or destress. Ugh, still so cranky about it. Sure, I'll sometimes hit a battleground or WG--but rarely, and I want it to be a choice. Not something always going to happen when I want to just enjoy the gameworld.

Ugh, I'm babbling so much today. >_< Stupid caffeine. Sorry. ^^;
