1. Hi, hormones. Return of the Cranky Wench, part billion. >:E Also, it's been cool, dim, rainy, and windy, like fall, and while I *love* that, it makes me want to sleep all the time.
2. Still hate the Lich King fight. Makes me wish I could go to BlizzCon in hopes of going to one of the developers' panels and stomping on the foot of whomever's responsible for it. Tuesdays are awesome for not being raid nights so I can hide out from Dauntless stuff. Meanwhile, it's the 5 year anniversary for the founding of the Daughters ofthe Alliance guild on Bronzebeard, which really says something about their people and how they're run. Yay for them. ♥
3. Wallowing in old J2 fic of late. Wallowinnnnnnnng. Hoping to run into this one I read last summer-ish where Jared was in a car accident (maybe broke a leg or something, I forget), and Jensen helps him out after and things ensue.
4. Greek Gods brand yogurt (pomegranate) is the awesome-amazing stuff of the day.
5. Countdown to SPN season finale song-sharing:
Queen - Headlong http://www.mediafire.com/?oznlrmm2jgd
Two days \o/
6. Oh, weird. I'd forgotten that my Dad, stepmother, and stepsister were visiting her family in Oklahoma this past weekend. :x They were north and east of where all the tornadoes hit, but sounds like a second cousin of hers lost their house. Yikes.
[Editing to remember!

Sticks and Stones, J2, NC-17, 22k words. Thanks so much
essene for pointing me at *exactly* the right thing! Saving this for when I get nostalgic for it again. :3

Date: 2010-05-11 09:44 pm (UTC)Oh dear, tornados :S Friends of my host-family had a tornado go right through their yard that summer when I first came to Minnesota (2004) and I remember thinking first that it would be so cool to see a tornado, but when the warnings were on, it didn't seem so cool anymore. I (luckily) never saw one during that year. Our friends had really good luck since the tornado only hit an old barn and passed the actual house and other important buildings.

Date: 2010-05-11 10:49 pm (UTC)And holy cats, scary about that tornado! :x We get warnings about them often, each summer nearly, but only a couple times has one actually hit this city (small one a couple years ago that caused damage but didn't touch down, major one when I was three). I have sort of a phobia about them though. ^^; Just hearing the sirens makes my heart race.

Date: 2010-05-11 11:18 pm (UTC)haha, I love how much meaning this (very innocent) line carries.
AND QUEEN. OMG. I sometimes forget about them for months... and then someone randomly mentions a song and suddenly I'm full of love and excitement again. Freddie's voice is seriously addictive :)

Date: 2010-05-12 03:15 am (UTC)OMG indeed! ^___^ I honestly have had a thing for the group since I was in elementary school, and my parents still laugh how I used to go around talking about the movie Flash Gordon "with music by Queen!". One of those LJ question writer's block things, where they asked if you could go back in time to watch one dead musician perform, my answer was Freddie Mercury. I loved his voice and his personality.

Date: 2010-05-12 03:31 am (UTC)Though to be honest, we still lose too many people to earlier stuff, especially the raging spirits, but that I think is inexperience for the new people. It's quite a few new people plus people who are returning after long, long hiatus. Doesn't help that of the people that left or had to go on long hiatus, two were two of our three main tanks, so we're having people relearning roles. So yeah. A lot of one step forward two steps back sort of stuff. Then add in that the frustration is still making people pick at each other a hell of a lot, and one of our officers is so damned snide right now I'd kind of wish he'd follow through on server transferring--he's not helping morale at a shaky time, you know?
Anyway. XD; I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT WORGEN AND CATACLYSM. \o/ Just so I'm not all just bitching about the game, heh.

Date: 2010-05-12 03:49 am (UTC)Setup was,
tanks: Bear tank druid, blood tank death knight
Heals: Restoration shaman, holy paladin, discipline priest
DPS: Elemental shaman, fire mage, destruction warlock, marksmanship hunter, retribution paladin.
Phase 1: Bear tank took LK, blood DK took the adds a little ways off to the side. Anyone with plague runs to the adds cluster and gets cleansed before the first tick, plague jumps on adds, and kills the shambling horrors. Hunter keeps an eye on shamblers, and tranq shots them if they enrage. We usually had two shamblers up at once, never more. The rest of us go pew pew on LK.
Transition phase 1: Everyone runs to edge, blood tank took the still living adds off to the side to let the plague finish them off. Bear tank reaction time was key to our survival here; Bear tank got on Spirits as SOON as they popped, and faced them in towards the LK. He was superfast about grabbing them and positioning them. By the time transition phase ends, we usually had one spirit left alive, at various points of health, but no more shamblers. All our attempts where shamblers were alive due to plague disappearing ended in a wipe.
Phase 2: Valkyrs were dealt with swiftly; pre-Wrynn buff we had some DPS issues if a DPS was grabbed, but when we beat him we had the 5% buff and it made a noticeable difference. As for the Defiles, we found that while everyone had DBM, the small ticking countdown bars had become an afterthought to a lot of people, so I was actually calling EVERY single Defile out in Ventrilo a few seconds before it was due to hit. Then people spread out/ran towards the edge/throne to place the defile as conveniently as possible. I'd also call out Valkyrs on ventrilo so people were away from the edges, which led to a lot of calls along the lines of "Valkyr in 5 seconds, but Defile first so place it fast then get the fuck in the middle!"
Transition phase 2: Second verse, same as first, except we popped heroism.
Phase 3: I continued calling cooldowns on Vent. We tried killing the spirits floating above when he summoned them a few tries, but soon learned kiting them until they just blew up on their own was better. I was told by the first Kingslayers on our realm that "Phase 3 isn't a DPS race; it's a survival race."
I honestly think though, that the superfast positioning of the spirits by the beartank and calling out the cooldowns/upcoming Defiles on Ventrilo really helped the encounter. Of course, that does dick if people are still retards about standing in them/positioning them badly, and especially on 25s I can imagine this is way more critical than in 10s.
LK is such a horrid, horrid encounter, I kind of want to bitchslap him IRL. And maintaining a positive attitude is key; I'm sorry your officer is being a whore about it. Speaking as someone who's done the bitchy, snide thing in the past (different game, but still), it leads nowhere good. Keep truckin though, you'll get him! :D

Date: 2010-05-12 11:50 pm (UTC)Plus, he was one of the ones that while themselves played cleanly, would yell about people in the guild that were not situationally aware--while his own wife (the lock named Madduussa or something like that) was one of the worst offenders. Made me really consider him a hypocrite in an indirect way. But I see that not only are the officers okay with him, they've said something that's convinced Seth it's worth a try, so who knows. \o/
That last bit is OMFGSOTRUE >:O I don't know why the beans we put up with her. >:E (:p :p :p ♥)
