whitereflectionI'm really not liking how negative I've been in lj posts, so it's time to change that. I think I'm going to try a week without snarking/bitching/whining/ranting--I don't necessarily mean forcing myself to be shiney-happy, just to avoid being so complainy and angry and whatnot. I really tend to wallow in what makes me unhappy, so maybe this will help nudge me into an attitude adjustment. (And I need to do this without just stopping posting entirely ^^; ) Maybe it's a bad time to be trying that (what was the line in 'Airplane'? Something like "I picked a hell of a time to quit _____."), but no time like the present, IMO.
Anyhoo, onto the real post...
Hopefully today or tomorrow I should be receiving a cel in the mail. It's a special cel, a very, very special cel. :D I shall tell all about it once it's in my grubby little hands. But let's just say it's one of those top four wish-list cels, and that Kea is a goddess for having pointed its sale out to me and for having kept nudging me to get it. I am *very* excited about getting this. So I can't spend until end of November now. This is *worth* it. ^_^
Tonight's the last of the group lessons. I'm rather disappointed in myself--after being busy for a couple weeks/weekends, I fell badly out of the habit of practicing on Unmei. This past week, between sleeping so much and being fully unmotivated and unenergized from my mood funk, I didn't practice once. I just didn't *want* to, even when I had the time. I figure that after tonight's lesson, I'm going to get back in the habit of practicing, bone up on what I've learned so far, then worry about signing up for one of their private lessons (I think I'd prefer those, so I can go at my own pace). Private lessons are twice as expensive, so I definitely need to apply myself so I'm not just wasting the money. And I do want a different instructor--George is a really good guitar player, but his teaching style and my learning style don't quite mesh. That, and he's a blues guitarist, and I'd prefer someone whose primary style is rock. We'll see what I can put together, maybe in a couple weeks to a month or so.
Finally got more of the AMVs Nix has been giving me links to. "Life's Gonna Suck" is *SO* kickass. XD The song is scary appropriate somehow--and I'm a huge Dennis Leary fan anyway. Love the anime clips they used. Heh. Now I need to find an mp3 of that song, so I can sing along at work. :D Also found a hilarious Digicharat video on the same site (Doki Doki), titled 'Nyo is War', I think. ^^ Worth the dl for Digi fans. Oh, and the Esca video to Five For Fighting's 'Superman' is fricking *awesome*. I think it's one of my favorite Esca videos now--yes, I'm biased because it's Van-centric, and has wings and feathers everywhere. But it's just a poignant song, and really fits the anime and character well.
