whitereflection: (i am so fucking boring)

Fit the 1st: It's only taken me 36 years to finally get the hang of how to make a grilled cheese sandwich right.

Fit the 2nd: Of all the things I do for dinner, ranging from nuke-it to things that take all afternoon to do, it is that grilled cheese that sends the husband into foodgasms. Seriously, it was only cheap white bread, buttered on the outside, and store brand American cheese. He *raved*. I'm just a little bit "...'kay. o_O".

Fit the 3rd: Wow. The challenges happen fast at [livejournal.com profile] spnland. :x Eep.

Fit the 4th: Speaking of a different sort of WoW, am feeling kind of burned out on the game lately. : / (And not just because the guild's gotten Dreamwalker 25 but is so stalled at Bloodqueen 25). At the same time an in-game friend is going all pmsemobitchy about some things, and am just finding that I want to avoid it (mainly because it's not a bitchfit that's a listen/comfort thing, but getting guilt-tripped about not being vocal and backing him up when he posts about problems. It's not that I don't care, it's just that I...am having trouble motivating myself in general, I guess). Sort of making me not want to log in at all, much less want to deal with raid stuff.

Fit the 5th: http://www.overcompensating.com/posts/20100222.html Indeed, Mr. Rowland, indeed. Also, http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/ needs to quit being the story of my life.

Fit the 6th: http://www.dreyers.com/brand/grand/flavor.asp?b=134&f=1644 The answer to life, the universe, and everything. I'm just sayin'. See also: Thin Mint. (Nothing against Ben & Jerry's S'mores, that's just all year, so. Häagen Dazs Creme Brulee would still reign supreme if it hadn't disappeared from store shelves years back. Where'd it go, some sort of ice cream Bermuda Triangle?)

Holy crap, [livejournal.com profile] spnland is stressing me out. Are you doing the writing challenge with the journal entries? That's an intimidating minimum word count!

YOUR ICON, I LOVE IT ♥

*cough* Anyway. >_> Oh god, stressing me out, too, so much. I finally had to write out what was due when on a post-it--that LJ thing the 26th, the screenshot scavenger hunt the 28th, now this banner thing the 2nd, plus that meta the 8th. Holy *crap*. I figured it'd be one challenge a week, but a couple a week...it's constant. D: Though I know they require what, participation in one thing a month? But I don't want to be letting my team down. : /

The journal entry thing--I think I'll be doing it. I haven't started though. : / I have a couple ideas, but not enough to do the full amount for either idea. I wish we could do entries from multiple persons. And yeah, wish the word count requirement were a bit lower. I'm a bit bummed that there's another graphical challenge already. I'm really bad at that sort of thing, and it was bad enough to do banners/icons that weren't voted on, but it's gonna be embarassing to produce crap since I'm not capable of more and see it perform horribly in the voting. The meta though...I'm probably going to have to skip that. I'm *bad* at that sort of writing, and haven't written in that style since college over a decade ago. And I'm really new to the show--I just don't have the long-term and in-depth understanding of the characters. Ugh.

Anyway. Augh augh stress stress \o/ I wish if they were doing things so fast that it'd be a bit more small-type, less time and mental energy-requiring sort of tasks. Stuff that's a little more fun and not quite so much 'work'-feeling :x Maybe I'm not good for this sort of community. I just wanted to have fun with fellow fans, you know?

Ha, ha - I've made beef bourguignon, coq au vin, and various complicated dishes, but what does JP love? My stuffed bell peppers that literally take 20 minutes to make! LOL...

Mmmm, grilled cheese sammiches and pickles sound SO GOOD right now!

I wish I were closer so I could beg you to cook for me XD I would soooooooo be appreciative of complicated dishes like that. That's the stuff I love best, but really don't do, because complicated tends to intimidate me. Hence only getting such from restaurants, which means almost never since we very rarely go out anymore. Oy.

Anyway XD ♥

LOL, the grilled cheese sandwich took me a while to master, too. I don't know what it is about two slices of white bread and a hunk of cheddar that is so goddamn difficult to slap together. I plan on conquering french toast one of these days:P

Ohhhh french toast :9 I'm still trying to get that sort of thing right, too. With all those sorts of things, I'm always getting the outsides too dark and the insides not enough--though maybe if I'm starting to get pancakes right, it'll help on stuff like this, too. ^^;

I am terrible with grilled cheese. It shouldn't be that complicated! Congrats on mastering it. :)

ICE CREAM! I'm addicted to the Thin Mint right now. Heaven in a bowl.

Heh, yeah, you'd think it wouldn't be that complicated. But it's funny how the type of bread and cheese can influence it, how you have to get the heat right or (as tends to be my problem), the outside's close to burned and the inside's not done enough. When I used to try to make them, I didn't even know to butter the outside of the bread, hence insta-burned outsides >_< For years, I just made my husband do them.
