sauntering vaguely toward Halloween

whitereflectionIt is brilliantly, perfectly October outside: dim grey, windy, cold cold soaking rain that drags down all the yellow leaves, and temperature that shrugs instead of bothering to rise during the day. I'd actually kind of like to bundle up and walk in it a little, but better to stay in with my leftover chili and green tea (Numi Monkey King ♥) with the bit of lemon juice and honey.
Guamanian death coldflu continues. Continuing to ponder calling the dr's office, but there's still no temperature--and thus to me says not something requiring an antibiotic, just the sort of thing that you tend to get told to keep taking the otc stuff, get fluids and rest, and wait out. Mom's sort of hovery about it, though.
Speaking of Mom, she passed along Pratchett's latest, Unseen Academicals, and I'm only a little of the way in, but I'm utterly charmed by it, and it is sort of making me mentally squee. ♥ Usually I like the Night Watch subset of his Discworld stuff the best, but I'm enjoying revisiting the wizards quite a lot, and the new characters for this one are so winning me over. Because I am lame, one quote makes me think Mr. Padalecki and his unique shirt choices: "'The pink proclaims an almost belligerent masculinity, saying as it does: I am so masculine I can afford to tempt you to question it, giving me the opportunity to proclaim it anew by doing violence to you in response.'" Hee hee hee heeeeeeeee~ X3 ♥♥♥
