In which it is verified that Yuusei looks good being tortured (in just boxer shorts, even 8D), Jack angsts well when doubting himself, the nosehair-flinging guard (WHAT.) is just gross, and...

...Rex Godwin = evil, as was already guessed from watching the raws last week.

Evil spasm! (Evilgasm?)

Translation's a bit rough for his dialog in this spot ("However, I would not hesitate to sacrifice one side to capitalize on another for existential necessities." --Huhwha?). Makes me wonder if he's talking about sacrificing Satellite (or the world, perhaps?) if need be for the benefit of Neo Domino, sacrificing Yuusei to continue elevating Jack (Godwin's alleged chosen one for role of savior) unimpeded, sacrificing Yuusei's friends in retaliation--or even maybe was it a veiled threat to sacrifice Jack in order to make Yuusei think twice before causing disorder again? Hmm.

But then again, Godwin's earlier statement--directed rather pointedly at Yuusei when allegedly lecturing the whole group--seems to threaten friends, which could be his Satellite friends but could still also mean Jack. ("A single individual's reckless actions causes trouble for their friends and acquaintances. And, on occasion, it may be accompanied by pain"--emphasis from the subbers.)

So love this ep. It's very obvious that Yuusei's hugely suspicious of Godwin, and isn't fooled for a second that Godwin isn't acting outside the bounds of someone in charge of public security. And he keeps asking repeatedly what Godwin's scheming, who he *is*, and so on.

And as far as the conclusion to the Yuusei and Godwin scene--
Yuusei: "Sacrifice"? >:(
Godwin: Figuratively speaking. :]
Me: I call bullshit. >:O


/sigh Raw 9 needs to be up. Even if it is going to be the duel with the nosehair-flinging (seriously, WHAT.) guard.

And then myself says, "Because Jack Atlus throws most amusing bitchfits ever, for starters. Because Yuusei is a non-cliched lead character with an interesting backstory. Because motorcycles are really fucking cool and you know you want one. Because the animation is so fucking awesome. Because violent things and explosions happen. Because ancient Mesoamerican mythology isn't something you often see in anime (if ever). Because it's practically oozing yaoi subtext. Because all the characters' hairstyles are possibly more ridiculous than those of the original series'. Because they brought back Ushio and made him awesome. Because there's Yanagi and Akutsu. (Nosehair guy, on the other hand, can just go to hell.) Shall I continue?"
