house by the sea
Mar. 27th, 2008 10:10 amWobbling through a sort of down to occasionally hell of down mood for some reason. Didn't help that it was dark-dark and misting/raining on the drive in. I should have gotten the venti coffee, I can tell. My recent spate of 3.5 hrs of sleep was only 2.5 last night (I blame leftover Easter candy as well as staying in game extra long for the new daily quests), and hence I'm dizzy from being so tired, near drunk with it. Made the dept. meeting extra interesting.
As for the new WoW daily quests, they are not bad except for being so hellaciously over-camped. What's nice is that there's so many of them (though that's also a bad thing as well)--because you're not forced into just doing a few for a long period of time. Rep is moving fast (already half through friendly), the phases of the invasion are moving fast, which all serves to open up even more of the new content. Means lot of game money coming in, as well as the fast rep increase--can't wait for revered jewelcrafter stuff yay--and a bit of a relief from the mindcrushing so burned out I wasn't doing them boredom the older dailies had become.
Raid was kind of suck last night, though--finding out that some things are broken on some of the fights that make them just damned ugly if not impossible. Boo. Doesn't help that I just suck at my class (which why it continues to surprise me, I don't know. I sucked as a rogue, I suck as a warlock, I just plain suck at gaming. Why do I magically expect I'm somehow going to actually become decent at it?)
For some reason I keep feeling the urge to put together a Yugioh FST, which is stupid for many reasons. Not the least of which is there'd be no theme except for 'sort of reflecting characters/pairings/story bits that I like'. Also is problematic that 70% of it wants to be VNV Nation music. Would defintely not be something that could go on the fst community, especially since there's no prompt for it. Speaking of communities, almost time for the new springkink round. But I'm bummed, because I know there'll be no prompts for what I'm interested in, despite my craving to write. But I'll snoop at it anyway, I guess.
Also, looks like there was an update at iconomicon. Definitely need to nab the one that has a guy yelling into a megaphone that says CAPSLOCK. Ahahaha.
I love our ILS/catalog software. I love that it has bits that totally don't work as they should, much less as the company intends--don't even *match* what their manuals say they should do--yet the company just shrugs and says it's not their problem. Also love having to repeat myself to various coworkers a ton to communicate the problem. Maybe if they would just pay attention right once in a while...
I know, wall of text that really says nothing, certainly nothing that's interesting to anyone else. But I'm on the help desk, and I'm bored. I hate work; I wish I didn't have to do it any more. Too bad I don't have the guts to go all Office Space.
