whitereflectionVeteran's Day, and on the way in I was pondering not so much my dad, but a few other people. The medic who saved him after he was shot (and who himself died). Can't remember his name now, it was Cesar something. Dad's got a photo of the name off the traveling Wall exhibit, and a pencil rubbing my aunt made off the Wall memorial in D.C. Also, all the field nurses/doctors/surgeons who put Dad back together after, who somehow kept him alive throughout losing a spleen, part of a lung, a couple of ribs, some intestine, and so on--even through a 107F fever at one point. If it weren't for them, there would be no him and no me.
In other stuff, Spamalot = huge win. Mom stayed over this weekend again, and made a fresh vegetable soup, which also = win. And Don burned the first 3 eps of Gundam00 for me, which was cool, too.
I should turn AIM on again. Went through one of my things of feeling guilty that I wasn't talking to anyone, so I turned it off, but then I've been feeling bad that I did so. Go fig.
State of my fandomness...there is none. This weirds me out. I have had something I was obsessing on over all else for years now, but...nothing. Been following a few stories--one RoyEd, one Doumeki/Watanuki, some FF7 stuff, couple SasuNaru (I know, what the hell, I even removed some communities I've been so not into them for awhile). And still need to read that one AkuRoku fic emerald_embers did. I don't know why I've put it off, I adore the whole concept of the prompt for it. I would actually read original WoW fic (though I'm not really into stuff with the actual game characters), but finding serious-not-just-bad-pr0n bloodelf fic is not quite so easy. I'm too picky.
