well, that's different

So there was a news story on the radio this morning, about how one customer stabbed another customer at one of the Omaha WalMarts. Two employees wrestle the perpetrator to the ground and hold her down until the police and paramedics arrive--and *of course* one of the employees is my buddy, Greg. Sounds like he and the other employee had to be treated for cuts on the arms (and the person was stabbed is in critical condition, I guess). But still, weird as hell. And I am *SO* not surprised that Greg was one of the people helping stop the situation--and not just because he's a big guy.
Also, home sick. Colds are opportunistic, yeah.
13 stitches, one-and-a-half pints of blood (artery, fixed already). First thing they teach you about knife fights is you're going to be cut if you're unarmed. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I'd known she was slicing me and not throwing a punch. She stabbed me a second time as I pinned her down before I could control the knife hand. Cops told me I should've broken her hand.
You'll see the wound Sunday if you're at Don's game. The initial cut, on my tricep - was friggin huge. Looked like I had a big-mouth bass vomiting blood out of my shoulder. Somehow I got a single drop of blood on me but the assailant looked like she'd been smothered in a tomato-pie-to-the-face-and-back contest.
I got one night off, plus the night I was injured, back to work tonight. The other guy (Doug) wasn't cut nearly as badly and he was too dumb to ask the ER doc for a pass. Doug worked last night, called me this morning to bitch about all the television crews calling. Thank God for an answering machine.
Even though I didn't work yesterday I did have to spend two on-the-clock hours doing a mandatory urine test for workmen's compensation reasons. Wish I'd known it would take that long so I could've timed the gallon of water ingestion better and not have to do the rain dance at the clinic.
All I can say is jinkies, really. >D;;
