Ohyeah, I almost forgot. I've been here a whole hour and a half, and here's the computer play by play so far:

1. Crashed upon startup. Had to use the reset button to reboot.

2. Netscape 6.2 crashed, and took the whole machine with it. Had to use the reset button to reboot.

3. Like an idiot, closed Netscape, which then had "performed an illegal operation" crash *twice* when I tried to start it up again.

4. Computer crash when I tried to open the OCLC cataloging program.

5. Netscape "illegal operation" when I tried to start it up again.

><;;; Dear gods. Can I just bring my iMac in there, please? Can I? Gah...and I just know it's going to crash during shutdown at the end of the day yet *again*. XP I hate this machine.

Sounds like a problem with Netscape. Ever thought of playing with just Mozilla? It's worked great for me...

*nodsnodsnods* Thought of it many times, in fact (do I even have to mention that I've had two more whole-machine crashes this afternoon, with Netscape yet again having a illegal op thing ><). I think I'll be using it, or something similar at home when we go to OSX (since Netscape has decided that OSX doesn't exist and therefore doesn't need to put out a version for it ><;; ).

Here, at work--I gotta go with what Systems recommends. Though I'm going to ask about going back to Netscape 4.73, or using Mozilla--the worst they can say is no. I *could* use IE for work or home, but...*shrugs* ^^; I am on a crusade to avoid it, simply because it's worked its way into a near monopoly. It's the principle of the thing... ^^;

Or maybe I could tell Systems that if they want me using Netscape 6.2, they need to give me a more powerful machine with more RAM. XD Yeah, that'll fly, uh huh. Heh.

Die foul PC, DIE! And I'm sorry but XP should be tortured with barb hooks then burned at the stake.

I swear, you couldn't peel my cold dead corpse away from my Mac. Now we only have to wait for the rest of the world to see through all the glitz and flash that Microsoft throws around and discovers the glory of a Mac. When I try to tell people they can live in a world free of computer crashes they just look at me like I'm insane. They just can't fathom.

Yeah, I can so realate to wanting to hurl my PC out a window and park a nice, dependable, fun Mac in it's place. Bow low before the god that is OS X world. ~giggles~

Anything about Netscape 4.7 is a piece of crap. Internet Explorer, despite the whole Microsoft controversy, is actually good software.

On the subject of Macs, however...

I have yet to convince a Mac to get along with me. Every Mac I've ever worked on has crashed repeatedly for no apparent reason other than pure malice. Despite this, I know from a technical standpoint that Macs are physically superior machines to PCs.

However, since if you want to write a simple ten-line program you have to PAY Apple for the privilege, I don't think the world is going to rush over to Macs anytime soon. It's a question of software rather than hardware.

Yep, frustrating as she is, I'll stick with my PC Jun-chan until (her) death do us part...
