God*damn*, was last night fun. XD XD Had a ton of food, set off a *TON* of fireworks--I only had an average amount, but then host and buddy Les started giving me his to light. And he had a *bunch*--and way niftier ones than I'd bought. We ended up not finishing up until very near midnight--was after midnight by the time we got home. One of Les' neighbors must have spent near a thousand bucks on the stuff--they had some *nice* nice, complex, huge fireworks, almost like the kind you see professionals do.

So I'm dead, dead tired, and getting my ass kicked by allergies in a major way. And I'm realizing that ohyeah, I musta gotten some tiny burns on my forearms from sparks (aha, and I thought my hair'd smelled a bit singe-ey last night ^^ ) But *damn* was it worth it. XD

Today's deserted at work--tons of people are taking vac time to make a long weekend. >_> ...I'm jealous. *flails* Wouldn't be so bad, except I have *so* much nothing to do. I mean, truly nothing. The one task I know I've got will take me an hour, tops, and that's if I go slow. Other than that...*flails* I'm gonna have to come up with something. Dunno if it's a good thing that my supervisor or dept. chair are gone today--if they were here, at least I could whine to 'em about stuff to do.

Hm...hopefully we'll finish Saiyuki tonight. Which'd be good since I'm now fanatical about showing everyone Excel Saga and Digicharat. Tomorrow we've got to help Katherine move stuff into a storage unit, and finish cleaning her place. Woo. ^^; Ah well, we've owed her for a long long time for repeated help with our moves.

Oh, one other bit of strangeness--I have the damned oddest song stuck in my head. The other night, I heard "El Paso" playing at Cosmo's, the diner place I'm so fond of. (Odd, since thier theme is the 50's...). And it just slammed me into a nostalgia mood, since Dad used to play that song and others like it when I was a kid--old country-western stuff like Waylon, Willie, Kris, Kenny, Johnny, etc. Then they played Puff the Magic Dragon (Oo I know, it's so very 50's bebop... *blinks* ), and I really was back in gradeschool again. *flails* And now I can't get that "El Paso" tune to go away. Yeek. ^^;

...wonder if I should pretend to work. Eh. Guess I should.
