Unmei no Kaikou lives...
Jul. 3rd, 2002 10:26 amTook kind of a mental health break last night--used the chance to goof around, get some 'fun' errands done that I'd been wanting to do.
Finally acquired the Excel Saga first DVD, so now I can watch it on our 26" TV instead of my 15" computer monitor. I watched the first two eps last night, and had the ad notes function turned on--so all these little pop-up video-style notes would flash on the screen with cultural references and comments. It was rather awesome, actually. ^^
And I finally got the minor accessories for the guitar I'd wanted--the stand, a cable to connect it and the amp, some picks, a strap, a beginner's book. I should be starting lessons soon (the group lessons are cheaper), once they get enough people with schedules that mesh. I really only have time Saturday am/afternoon or Monday evening, so hopefully there are others who want to meet at the same time--otherwise I'll have to go with the more expensive private lesson option.
But anyway, I got all my stuff set up finally (even had to install the third tremelo spring, as they'd sent me 3 but had only put 2 into the guitar), and I practiced a bit. It sounds really nice, and I can conceivably play *really* loud ( :D I only had the volume on half setting, and it was already rather a hearty sound)--and I now know the fingerings for the basic E,F,G on the first string, and B,C,D on the second. Though switching between the two strings is...interesting. >_o I can see I'm really, really going to have to work on the flexibility and dexterity in my hands.
*hugs to all*

Date: 2002-07-03 01:34 pm (UTC)Hey, I'm the one with AC no matter where I go here--shouldn't I be fanning you? *fan fan fan* And note I did the hug thing *anyway* so there. Heh.
Man, I do hope this heat breaks soon...though how can I expect it to, considering there's all of July and August left? Eh, dunno what you believe on the subject, but this past year is for me very much evidence of global warming-influenced climatic shifts. Bleh. I wish we'd get some rain...we're really getting smacked by drought-stuff here. :p
...crud, I'm babbling again. Anyway...

Date: 2002-07-03 03:54 pm (UTC)~hugs back~ I'm off to hide in some AC soon so we'll just pretend I'm not slimy.
And you, babble good. I love your words, never feel you can't say as much as you want.
I'll be back to tackle you on that longer message later. ~hugs more~
