Woo, livejournal is of the suck today! Keeps giving me 404 not found messages--and I keep yapping at it "That URL does *too* exist on this server!" *flails*

Anyway, yesterday went rather well, though it was damned, *damned* hot! I do believe it went higher than the 92 they were predicting. We were lucky there was a good wind, or we would have croaked, with the heat, humidity and scarily bright sun. (a bit more cloudcover woulda been keen ^^; )

I got there the earliest, about 11:15, but Katherine and Kelly arrived not long after. But would you believe some people already had tarps and blankets down? I mean, we still got a great spot, but still--it mostly torqued us off that these were the people that dump their blankets down and leave. We really be lieve that to hold your spot, you should be there and stay.

So we hung out, snacked a little, mostly talked and listened to CDs. It was too hot to be very hungry, much less to think (I brought three books, my Gameboy, my oil pastels--which I ended up pu tting in the cooler to keep them from getting too soft--etc, but I touched nothing of them. I just laid there and cuddled bottles of water that'd I'd frozen). I think I went through about 8 bottles of water over the course of a day--plus a couple diet p epsi things. The others did about the same. Oh, and turns out Katherine doesn't like Duel Jewel. *flails* Yeah, I dunno what crack she's smoking, either. Says their too hard rock for her. Eh. *rolls eyes* At the least, she liked the Gravi TV Tracks CD I played for her.

Anj and James joined us later--as did Kelly's Japanese conversation partner Emiko and the woman's husband Hiroyuki. (Emiko's part of UNO's English language program--so Kelly's practicing to improve her Japanese and Emiko's practicin g her English). The two are...well, even though they're Kelly's age, which is a bit older than me, Emiko and Hiroyuki were adorable. :D And they shared their edamame with me! *grins*

Anyway, the play was a blast--Two Gentlemen of Verona's the usual romantic comedy with much disguising and sneaking about. The group that puts it on is very good--it's associated with Creighton and UNO's drama depts., and brings in people from across the country. They even had the main two characters ride in on horses, and made use of trained dogs a couple of times in the play. The background music is rather awesome, provided by a group that plays your typical instruments, including classical and acoustic guitar and synthesizer, as well as exotic instruments like funky drums and a digeradoo (seriously!).

So we had fun, even if we are sunburned (yes, we wore sunscreen, and reapplied it like four times over the course of the day!), and headachy. Too much sun, too much pollen, too *too* much citronella candles. ^^;; (And James is suffering from the aftereffects of a *monsterassed* leg cramp--I mean, it was ugly! When a guy is barely keeping from screaming in the midst of a huge crowd, it's ugly. Trust me, he's guzzling Gatorade and oj with calcium and eating bananas by the ton today.) But it was still cool--and I am *extremely* eager to see next week's performance of the Tempest. As they say, "weather permitting". XD *hee hee hee*

*hugs everyone bunches!* Hmm...day long DnD game today...dang, I gotta find my stuff for that.
