but my ice cream bar has no steek...

So got the e-profile thing and goals/objectives to my supervisor, assuming my eval was any day now...and found out that's just the beginning of it. *Now* she starts working on it. ...what the *hell*? This is the latest my eval's happened during a year anyway--and now it's going to be...well I don't even know for sure. The most certain date she could give was 'before her vacation in mid-August'.
... Usually they get my eval done before July 1. Now it might be mid-freaking-August? Man, I know they've had this damned new e-profile crap and that's slowing things down--but she's already had the chance to learn/implement the process on Anj. My supervisor is a fucking tool, honestly (and really, she has the old NUValues eval forms, which are *still* also being used...she could have already done that part and had it ready *grrar*). Never known someone who does everything--including learn--so damned slow. Geez freaking Louise.
But I guess the important thing about the eval's already happened: got my raise for the year, and was surprised to see it's not bad. Haven't gotten this sort of amount since 2002--so either the budget's finally gotten some improvement, or they don't think I suck as much as I've been concerned they do. That, or the fact that the dean is favored by/puppet of his higher-ups in the University administration got us given more instead of shafted. (Not that it's a great raise, but it's what I used to get, not the pathetic bullshit of the past three years. So.)
So, had noticed Gaiman's got a new book out, Anansi Boys. Always meant to buy it, but hadn't done so--but now I will be for freaking sure. Got to read it the past couple days as we got it in to catalog--and it's *awesome*. Seriously, it's now my favorite of his books (not counting his collab with Pratchett on Good Omens.) Back when Gaiman first started the transition from comic/graphic novel, I read his stuff but it just didn't hook me--was pretty dry, the characters didn't resonate with me somehow. American Gods, though, I liked. And this, I absolutely devoured/was addicted by/enjoyed the heck out of. Will read again. He's really developed as a novelist.
Anyhoo, time to escape. Yay, weekend. (But bleh on Don's Sunday night. It's supposed to be hotter than it's been yet this year--i.e. fucking hot, 102--the humidity's at a peak, and Don doesn't use his a/c. D< )
(...also. Anj is making an animeniacs.com order...and I think I'll go for the Bleach boxed sets they have. I know it's going to be horrid with names/subtitling since it's HK stuff...but I *WANT* DVDs I can watch on TV and show the others, not just torrent downloads. I'm desperate, and though it's licensed, I can't find any estimated date of release on commercial DVDs here. So I'll buy what I can of this now, and buy it again when it's out in the US.)
(Alsoalso...MWAHAHAHAHA can't resist using this icon any longer. >3 Hoo hoo hoo ♥~ Hawt.♥ )
