w00t, a quick post to catch up...

The last week was mostly uneventful. Got the cold going around, so missed a bit of work, slept a lot. Did a lot of WoW, but predominantly no-brainer sort of stuff, like herb gathering for needed potions. By end of the week I was getting back into normal stuff, but I still feel kind of out of the loop. And it's now just sinking in that I'm behind on Christmas things again, after all that good work getting things set up early. So cards and such will be sent out late. : / If my prediction is correct, it will all go out after the 25th, once I'm on the holiday break from work. >_> I apologize.

We've had a nice amount of snow recently, but now we're in a thaw, so everything's damp and muddy and soggy. I'm hoping for just a bit before the 24th, since Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are the only times I really want to see everything snowcovered.

Finally had a brief chance to get together with Anj, Gina, and Kelly last Saturday, watched the next DVD of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, 2nd GIG. M0R3 PLZ. I am in love with the new opening theme song. Even the new opening credits. Some good wallpapers to be found there, of the whole group. Mmm, trenchcoaty.


And, ok, the big WoW news: The Lunar Eclipse/Element Chaos group KICKED RAGNAROS' ASS. FOR REALS, YO. <3<3<3<3<3 And I got to be there. :O <3<3 Yes, our group FINALLY has beaten all of Molten Core, and finally got Ragnaros down after the 3% wipe they had last week (and definitely no bugged encounter this time). And it went *so* *so* sweet. T___T First try Saturday night, and it went just like the most smooth-running clockwork--and he was down on the first attempt. GAH, SO HAPPY. Of course my Ventrilo crashed during the attempt, so I didn't hear everyone's reactions. But I still got to see it, and be part of it, and now I've downloaded the video one of the others recorded, so I'll get to hear the Vent stuff there. But ZOMG. This is *such* a milestone. Take *that*, UGA losers.

The person who did that screencap has posted a huge 8min movie of the fight :O But hadn't finished dl-ing that yet by the time I had to leave. And not that I'll share that--is too big of a file to mess with spreading around. Don't wanna blow the webspace bandwidth again. :/ Or blow my guildmate's bandwidth. But still...yee<3 Too cool. (Oh, and that obviously isn't Ragnaros--it's just his hammer. Rags is *HUGE*...this whopping great fire elemental thing, which as a melee type I barely see only the bottom of. The sparkles mean it wasn't looted yet. >3 )

One thing I have bragging rights on, tho. :O See, back a bit ago, I'd gotten a really nice weapon for Sasu-rogue. Still hadn't seen a major damage improvement. Then started practicing more ambush/backstab moves (best for daggers), rather than sinister strike/eviscerate moves (better for swords/maces). Still not the best damage improvement. Then I finally respecced my talent trees. Took 35gold to do so, since I made a mistake on the 15g respec and had to correct it using my 20g respec. But...omg, the results. I not only broke into the top 10 (of 40) on damage...in all the Ony/MC runs last week, I was in the top 5. #5 on the Domo/Ragnaros fight, even competing with high DPS fellow rogues and warriors. The top 5 was almost all people from the LE group, too. T___T So. Happy. I'm finally truly kicking ass. Rock on.

Heh. And let's see...one of the LE folks finally had her baby Friday, and it's just amusing to see how many males in the guild are just thrilled to bits. They seem more charmed by it than even the few female gamers in the group. But it was rather sweet--as the charge was called for the Rags fight, people all started yelling in text that it was dedicated to the woman and her new infant. And then pow! the fight went so well. Was rather gratifying. *heh*

Anyway. No major epix lewt from the bosses for me (tho Aaron's toon got the damned best armor item ever--a headpiece, that is literally a crown of fire. It is the most gorgeous graphic ever, a crown of flickering flame. I ENVY.<3) Did get a Nightslayer Belt tho, which is a good thing to get to help build that set (have the gloves and belt now, and the head cover, though I wear the Bloodfang one normally, and the NS one when I need extra fire resist.)--one more item and I'll start to get set bonuses. Did score some other nice stuff in other runs over the weekend--a bow and cloak I'm saving for their shadow resists (good for Blackwing Lair), and some stitchings to be used for crafting an epic chestpiece.

And ohyes...after the Rags fight we took a trip for our first foray into BWL, to try the Razergore fight. Was just a bunch of wipes, but we did excellent for a first attempt--especially since very few had even read strategies, and only had what one guy described on Vent. And even then, there was excellent progress made. I think now that people are reading strats and practicing, it won't be long before they down 'im. Though I won't get many chances to do the Domo/Rags/BWL nights, since they're on Saturdays. But I'm thinking of asking the folks here if I can have one Saturday night a month where i can do WoW, to be part of this stuff.

Speaking of Ventrilo/Vent--yep, I've got it finally. Have it dl'ed, use it every night for the Lunar group; and *finally* the EC group has their server set up to be compatible, so I'm finally, finally able to listen and speak on the LC raids. YAYS. My new headset is neat, too, even if I had to buy 2 to find one that worked right (didn't realize I needed a USB one at first : / Turns out the audio in on a Mac is not for the typical mic jack--has to be USB). Had a bit of an amusement the last week--I happened to notice one of the main EC people...well, let's just say he has a voice that is a dead-ringer for the older brother, Kip, in Napoleon Dynamite. I mentioned it in the LE guild chat during the Rags raid, and XDXD people just died. Got much LOL-ing out of it. I'm surprised I was the first to make the connection--but was a bit of a score to make people crack up by pointing it out.


Yeesh. Ok, so not such a quick post. Typical, for when I put it off like that. Eh. Anyway, gaming is kinda messed up this week. : / Have James' office holiday thing to go to tonight, then dinner out with Dad and Dave Thursday, an open house for a friend's graduation Friday, then the usual get-together Saturday. Ehgh. -__- Ahwell. Least I'll get a little time. Oh, and no coffee today. :( But sugar! :O Ghirardelli dark chocolate with mint squares, and Cadbury dark truffles. >o< O, the holidays~

[Edit: Ahaha, and there's nothing like accidentally buying the 100g bank slot. T__T Sure, I needed it, but I hadn't planned on getting it until after saving for an epic mount. Ahh, the fun of game mistakes.]

[Also also: Made chili last night, and it was good. :Q And the Pillsbury frozen butterflake biscuits are, like, amazing. Seriously.]
