One of the odd things to hit me, something that just occurred to me earlier when working with a patron, is how I really like the smell, of all things, of certain areas of the library. Not necessarily the 'old musty book' smell, though I do have a strange love of that (especially when combined with the smell of old wood, not that we have that here). But...it's something I can't identify--don't know if it's paper, magazine type smell, what they rebind the journals in--something you get in certain areas here. I can't catch the scent here on the desk, but I can in certain areas of the journal stacks. Yeah, I know, weird.
Wore out early last evening, as I expected. Was pretty foggy the whole day. *shrugs* So I did almost nothing in the game (couldn't get motivated anyway), then slept on the couch. Overslept this morning, too. Yay, me. >_>
Had a bit of my glasses' earpiece break off, and they put a temporary temple cover on at Malbar. Which naturally doesn't match the other side (it's shorter, more soft plastic-y, thicker, etc), so now my glasses aren't fitting right. They'll order a bit to match the other side's cover, but will be a few days before that comes in. And I finally had them look at the lenses since I was in anyway, and seems the coatings went bad on the one lens (which is why there's this 'feathering' etched over the glass), and perhaps even on the other lens, since it's scrached so much despite the scratch resistance. So I get one free set of lens replacements under this year warrantee (ends in June), using that and they'll make new lenses. Hopefully this time it's done right, and stays right. Frankly, if they don't stay decent, I'll just go elsewhere and take the money hit to buy new glasses again. It's sad, the crap places like Lenscrafters, Eyemasters, and Pearl--at least their glasses lasted me a few years.
I need new icons, at least some. Just haven't been finding ones I like.
Other than residual tiredness, I seem to be moodswinging again. I thought the down yesterday (and being short and snappish) was from no sleep, but it's sticking around. Makes sense, though, since that happens after I get manic at all. And I was giddy manic at times this weekend, especially Saturday-Sunday (all the way through early-early Monday am). The manic could explain why sleep didn't happen at all that night, perhaps. Now I am enjoying it being cold-grey-dim-drizzly-cloudy. Just need appropriate music. (I need to change out my iPod playlist some though...getting a big bored of some stuff.)
[Edit: Oh lovely. My coworker Lori just mentioned to me that it's snowing out. ><; Hope it doesn't accumulate, I don't wanna deal with snow-panicked traffic. Especially since I have dinner out with Dad and Dave (and James, natch) tonight. Joy.]

Date: 2005-03-22 05:05 pm (UTC)I know what you mean about not being able to find good icons. I keep wanting ones for some of the less popular shows I watch, but can't find any. It's almost enough to make me try creating my own. ^_~

Date: 2005-03-23 08:34 pm (UTC)Hehhh...you should create your own : ) It's actually rather fun if you have the time--they don't all have to be flashy Photoshopped ones. Simplicity and clarity is really rather keen. *heh*
