Ticking clocks...

whitereflectionWho has clocks that tick any more? All mine are electric/digital/battery powered and hum. Or something. So the fall-back thing, which means I struggle to get all the timepieces in my house on the same time. Usually ends up with about ten different times, because I sucketh. >_o
Baked a cheesecake yesterday, w00t. Crust didn't turn out right--not enough butter I guess. Not sure if I misread the recipe, or if it just didn't call for enough. Ahwell. Will get a topping added today, then I do the creme brulee thing to it. :D Kickass. Also found white cat ears and a small white plush kitten--going to try to be the Necoconeco from Azumanga Daioh, if I can get it to work.
Also got a pumpkin and carved it yesterday--used the 'Trogdor' pattern from the Homestarrunner site. Gotta admit, I haven't done pumpkin carving in like...five, seven? years, and even then I only did the 'cut out big geometric shapes for a face' thing. Doing these detailed patterns is amazingly hard. :x So it ain't great, but it looks ok--did have to use needles to fix one part and reinforce another (not like the needles ever get used for sewing anyway). Will get pictures later *nods*. But I must say that the ice cream scoop trick of removing pumpkin guts and hollowing it out works amazingly well--why my parents never thought of this way back when I have no idea. ^^;
Loading up the car and dragging half my kitchen to Kelly's today. Wanted to do a Halloween gathering and James-birthday thing, and she wanted it at her house so she could greet trick-or-treaters. So I got stuff to make chili, mulligatawney soup, and that cheesecake, plus what she'll do. I just use way too many specialized gadgets and spices--gonna take a ton of junk over there, which seems foolish and a pain, but I need my kitchen toys D: I hate using other folks' kitchens--they never have what I need, what makes things simple :x Darn you all for not sharing my kitchen gadget fetish.
Anyway, food and whatnot, will be watching BoogiePop Phantom and the live action Parasite Eve movie with Kel, Gina, Anj and James. Will be a long day, but hopefully should be cool. Though will be gone from like 10-late, so...so long away from my computer D:
Lessons learned yesterday, tho--duh, don't go to a Halloween store on Oct.30. >_o And don't go to a grocery store when you're hungry and getting low on the blood sugar thing. And Gina and Anj are like crack-addicts when it comes to Katamari Damacy, and yes we all can play until like 1am and we need more more MORE! (Best game ever<3 Yay for my PS2<3). Lesson learned for today is I gotta get off my ass and get ready--lotta junk to pack together and stash in the car (gah, if I could have only had the get-together *here* like I wanted...)
Happy Halloween, Samhain, All Hallow's Eve, etc. and so on (And remember my post yesterday with all the mp3 music >o< Nightmare on My Street and Witch Doctor should be listened to today~! As should the other stuff :D )
Random: Shrek Twinkies (ie.green filling) amuse me for some reason.
