I liketh my coworkers...they keep an eye on our students so I could go home<3
CDs<3<3 Amazon order arrived already, so now have Kill Bill 1 and 2 OSTs, and Muse's Showbiz and Absolution. Verra verra cool. Think I shall listen to while couch-flopping.
Have been getting estimates on tree pruning. Tree pruning. Pruning, I think, is a ancient Sumerian word meaning 'man, you are over 30 now, aren't you?'. Speaking of which, I am reminded again how disconcerting it is to know that my generation, in fact those a decade younger I am, are producing the *next* generation (see Penny Arcade, etc) And it's no longer a bad thing that receives frowny-face news-editorial commentary. It weirds me out even more that there are many younger than I am who have children hitting school age already. I'm so not ready for this...
Ok, down-lying, yes.

Oh yeah. And Pruning can also mean when written in cuniform "HAHA KIDS. GO AND DO CHORES! PARENTS DEMAND IT!", or something. My ancient language reading skills aren't up to par. *grin*
One problem with Canada having so many trees near homes, is that we have to prune so many trees constantly... XD;

Date: 2004-09-11 05:30 am (UTC)*snerks* Unfortunately, no kids to do such things here, just cats--and I don't think they've got the opposable thumbs for it. ^^ Though these are 30+year old mature maples, so I wouldn't have an amateur adult work with them, much less kids--the work is way too danged high up there, not safe at all. We certainly don't have the ladders for it. I'll leave it to a professional crew with equipment and liability insurance and stuff ^^; (Gads, hadn't though about that--you guys must have to deal with that sorta thing tons...! ^^ )

Date: 2004-09-11 07:35 am (UTC)Pretty soon, I'm going to have to start pruning those apple trees and the spruces we have growing on our property line... As for the trees that were planted before I was born... yeah. Those aren't fun.
Anyways. Yay trees. Or something.
