No, I had never gotten around to reading the scanlations. I knew what happened, but hadn't seen it. *Daaaaaamn*... You know, I have no problems with the anime the way it is, none at all. But dear god in heavens and hells I would have *DIED* to see this in motion and color. Beautiful. Beautiful. So help me, the whole thing, from bloody-sweating Kaidoh to the incredibly hard-fought match to the rest of Seigaku cheering wildly at the end is *infuckingcredible*. What beautiful, intense emotion and drama. And to have that capped with a *win*...
It would have been so cool...to have Kaidoh treated *that* seriously like other characters in Seigaku, to give him a gorgeous dramatic-victorious moment like is given to Fuji and Ryoma and Tezuka...god, would have been amazing. Would have been awesome to see him shine and prove why he belongs on that team, with the rest of the talent... Man...wow.
Like I said, I have no problem with the anime as it is. But to have had that moment in there...for me at least, would have been so, so damned cool. Kaidoh-Kamio match cool. Ryoma-Tezuka match cool. Ryoma-Fuji-match-in-the-rain cool. Tezuka-Atobe match goddanged cool. Yeah.

Haven't watched yet, though, but I hope to tonight...or jeez, if I don't get a chance tonight, I'll make time tomorrow am before I get ready for work. :D And yes, I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED it. Saw some screencaps, and I am in serious OHMYGAWDBURNING just over a couple of pics. *hee* I mean...it just blows me away...Kaidoh wasn't looking grumpy, but almost wistful...and then smiling!
