Dec. 11th, 2003 12:44 pmWanted to go to bed pretty much the moment I got home last night (as it was, did sleep pretty early). Was worth staying awake to talk to Katkat and Arty, sure, but after Bebop's stick went about as badly as it possibly could have, I think I shoulda just crashed. *sighs* I dunno how I'm ever going to get to a point of being ever able to leave town for any period of time if I can't get this going better--I can't teach a friend how to do the injection if *I'm* that damned incompetent at it. And *someone* better as hell get the hang of holding a cat still, as that is not making my part any easier. Was extremely aggrevated at them last night.
Won a little plastic penguin full of candy at our holiday party. Though it looks a touch gruesome to be eating Hershey's kisses from its lower half. >_o;
I'm being useless here at work. Typical, ne? Keep pondering what vac. time to take next week (maybe Monday aft. after the final, a bit at the end of the day on Friday after they take the library catalog offline for tinkering with). Mmmm...would be nice to sleep early again tonight, but I know I gotta study, get ready for Monday. And RP stuff I should be doing... *slumps listlessly, somewhere between lazy-bored and out-of-sorts, flails at herself with haaaaaaaaate*

Date: 2003-12-11 11:09 am (UTC)Is he biting? Or just struggling? You can have someone hold him with a hand around the upper arm and shoulder on each side. Hang right on with the hands around the leg and the thumb towards the back of the shoulder joint. A good firm grip controls most of the body and you can plant him down on the table. You can do a bit of a towel wrap around the hind legs with this one if he's still kicking.
Cats usually respond best to the least amount of restraint necessary. The more you wrestle the worse they get. But you obviously have to get him still enough to give him his treatment. And I'm sure he's getting ouchy by now. Try the second idea first, it really does work well most of the time. Be careful, don't let anyone get bitten but remember cats can make a hell of a lot of noise and not really a lot of action.
Wish to hell I lived close enough to help you with him.
