Just did Bebop-cat's fluid treatment for the first time. Went ok, but...man, freaks me out doing it. He complained, but understandably so--feels strange, I'm sure, and a bit cold--but not as much as he bitched when the vet did it. Least it went fast. But...weird. I feel really weirded-out, and I just kept thinking of all I could mess up and do wrong. It's just...very odd, the whole thing. Now he looks kinda poochy around the shoulders...will be a bit before the fluid gets absorbed into his system. Anyway. Sorry to obsess/babble. Need to go study--and quit being in the offish-grump mood I ended up in this aft. and on the drive home (so dark, rainy, cold though, hard to help it).

~hugs~ Giving sq fluids can be freaky if you've never done anything like that. I don't know if it helps but be confident there really isn't much you can "do wrong". About the worst would be stabbing him straight through the skin and out the other side. The fluid is benign and cat skin is really loose so it's easy to make sure you're under it. The down side will be Rebob is going to learn darn fast what you're doing and that he doesn't want to stick around for it. Cats are smart that way as I'm sure you know you know. ^____^ They do tend to get ouchy when you have to poke them over and over again. When I was having to do Jinto twice a day I set him up on an extra comfy blanket on the couch and then afterwards spent some snuggle time with him. Didn't make him like the procedure any more but it did seem to help soothe his ruffled feathers some.

Pretty soon this is going to be second nature for you and Rebob, you'll be multi tasking while you do it. ^____^ Hollar if you have any questions I can help you with though.
