Funny the way it is
May. 29th, 2009 11:32 amI was probably being optimistic when I took the 'up to six months' that grandma's doctor predicted for her being on hospice literally--everyone else seemed to expect any day now, and thus were not surprised. Last Saturday failing systems all but shut down, and she passed away Tuesday afternoon. It has been really rough on Mom, but she and the rest of the family are hanging in there (save the ones that are being utter moron-idiots and asshats, but those few always are). The service is Sunday, though unfortunately my brother won't be able to come back from Denver for it. Mom's mother is just not one I was close to, which sort of was emphasized to me when Mom asked me for memories, and while I can remember many events where she was also there such as gatherings, I just don't have any specific memories of Grandma and I. But I have been feeling emotional because of how it affects Mom. Also, it will be the last funeral I will go to for a grandparent, and that is an odd feeling (there is still my maternal grandfather, but I will not care or acknowledge it when he goes and honestly I wish he had died first of them all).
In other tidbits, (finallyfinally) started watching Avatar last Saturday with Anj and Gina. The guild got Hodir down Wednesday. Work managed to be tolerable Tuesday and Wednesday, and I almost felt ok about it until I got to phone every goddamned mouthbreathing cocksucking asshole on the planet on Thursday. Check engine light went on Tuesday, so we scheduled the car to be looked at--then yesterday the light went off, and has stayed off. So...cancelled the appointment. No idea why it did that.
Also, while I am utterly out of the loop on music and haven't gotten the lovely things offered by people like Finny in eons, here are a few things from my 'what I like this week' purchases. Yeah, just alternativecollege radio fare, but I suck and am lame like that. Tho the Ulduar one is WoW related, a parody of some Timbalake song written for the new instance (has a cute video on YouTube, too). Anyway:
