Last night *finally* watched Paprika, though only Anj could make it over to join us. Made a themed meal of goulash, devilled eggs, pull apart garlic bread from the store (see, it was dusted with..yeah, heh), and other non-spice but red colored things.

Clementines are finally getting to be in season again yay ♥

Is life just about food? Yes, yes it is.

This is a post of very mixed. Odd how life is like that.

News out of the blue today. My dad's older sister died--very out of the blue, but something that most had been bracing for for years. She's been in poor health for...over a decade now. She's not the one with cancer (that's Dad's younger sister), but a myriad of physical and mental health problems, compounded by not taking care of herself. She's looked far, far older than she was for so long now, and always looked very ill. It was sort of like the person she was had been lost somewhere along the line awhile ago. But it is very rough for Dad and my other aunt and especially my cousins right now. I'm trying to think of something I can send to at least my cousins before the holidays, since this will obviously be a rough Christmas for them.

And then was Don's this evening. Watched Iron Man (which I still just wallow in love for), another ep of the TV Lone Wolf and Cub (in which all the characters--good and bad--are just utter *freaks*), and an ep of the utter godawful tripe that is the CGI animated Star Wars Clone Wars. My impressions boiled down to "bad fanfic with Mary Sue/Gary Sues". I loved the original trilogy. Loved. I read books from the universe (though I did get bored of the post original trilogy stuff). I tried to like the second trilogy--but mostly just liked a few things of the first movie, then pretty much disliked the other two. I dug the animated fill in bits they did later. But this? Wretched. Horrible. It made me wince to watch it, and I don't think I could watch more (please please please make it so he doesn't show more later). I detest it. It's just outright stupid, in so many ways.

I do not like the new look of LJ profile pages. It's just...wonky and awkward and unfinished looking, somehow. GG, LJ. Or so the lingo goes.

I think I like this song. A lot.

Trying to read fic stuff to wind down, but ffnet is full of such utter suck lately, I can't even seem to find the odd ok one much less the rare gem.
