Good lord, two weeks?
Jan. 29th, 2008 08:02 amYeah, I dunno either what was up. Got down, got busy, got really stressed and snapping and edgy and stuff. :/ I still exist, really.
Not much is up, though, despite what it felt like at the time. Drier died, and since the washer was ancient too I bought new for both. Discovered that I can't replace the gas stove with electric unless I have an electrician in to wire it for a 220 outlet (I hate my house). Microwave died too (the night before the washer/drier was delivered), but it was about 20 years old (seriously). Cancelled the text message function on my cell phone, since I was being charged for spam text messages I was receiving (from Azerbaijan for fucks sake). And caught up at work, though my supervisor had his mother die--about a year almost exactly since his father died last year.
One of my mother's older sisters is in the hospital, in ICU, for an infection that they're having trouble pinpointing that may or may not be compounded by some sort of stroke. She's recovering, but was in a sort of coma for about a week. And I'm pretty sure Mom's moving back to Omaha later this year--I think my talk with her last Saturday kind of cemented it--I hadn't realized one of the things holding her back was that we used her place to stay in when visiting Seattle. Hell, we can always get a hotel. Or just go somewhere else.
And then there's gameage. No one should be surprised that there would be. NW has since downedLootVoidreaver, Morogrim Tidewalker, Jan'Alai and Hex Lord Malacrass in ZA, and Leotheras. Leo I'm particularly fucking proud on. I said I'd be the fire resist tank, and fuck if I not only did, but did well. We did our first night of attempts last Thursday (43% and 5%), and I barely made any mistakes--and last night it took a couple of hours, but we got him. I was shaky at first, and healing seemed to have more trouble on me, but my technique frankly was good. Which it should have been, as the last week I'd been obsessively reading strats, watching videos, and reading/rereading/rereading forum threads about what to do for tanking and the whole fight.
Sad to feel achievement at a game, but FOR ONCE I said I'd do something and was fucking successful at it. I'll take it where I can. It's nice to be useful and not fall down when I try to do some important role.

Also also...it's been *arctic*, but then we had a couple days of thaw. But then BAM--slammed by bitter cold again, and winds that *roar* and scream and howl. So dark still outside, too. Very eerie.
Also also also...confessional moment. >_> I *hate* Yugioh hate it hate it hate it--but for some reason the character Kaiba Seto and the YamiSeto/SetoYami and JouSeto/SetoJou pairings ate my brain recently. Crap. I don't understand why. Other than I hit a couple really good authors at first, and they sold me on them all. Plus the stupid canon/fanon backgrounds (fuck, Kaiba, why are you so angsty??), and rivalry and pseudosupernatural/reincarnation bits push ALL my damned buttons. Hopefully I'm over it soon. I thought I felt stupid for Naruto...]
