Sep. 28th, 2007 08:26 am/wavewave So, it's the end of the world as we know it the day before I leave for home. :x I know I'll appreciate getting back to my own space (especially my own computer and game >_>; ), and I know Kat will enjoy getting her room and normal schedule back--but I am definitely feeling that vacation-ending downness. I don't want to go back to Omaha. I really, really like it *here*. I'd love to live and work in Taunton, or at least southwest Britain. I feel really comfortable and at home here.
Anyway, what's been up. Went to Bath a couple days ago, and saw the Roman baths. That was rather neat as hell. The rest of the town was pretty, but all the buildings were very similar and the shops just like anywhere else here (or at home, in some cases--boutiques are universal, I guess). Slacked the day before yesterday, and yesterday went driving around the countryside (Kat did lovely driving, yay for her :) ) Went to the seaside, Sidmouth I think it was, and walked the pebble beach some. Ate a full English breakfast at a cafe, had ice cream at a stand (I had clotted cream vanilla and honeycomb)--can't emphasize enough how good it all was. Why do people complain about food in England? It's all been *fucking awesome*--whether we're eating out, take-out, or stuff from the grocery stores.
Also went to a house on the National Trust register, one that was built in the Victorian era but which was given a bit of a medieval feel. Really gorgeous, took a ton of pictures of it and the grounds. Finished there by having cream tea there, which also was happiness incarnate. God, I've been eating fabulously well. Today, I think we're going to see Run, Fatboy, Run--by the same crew that did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, I think?--and going out for dinner. Also I'll need to pack, which should be delightful -__-
Also also, watched over Kat's shoulder as she raided a couple nights--had it verified how universal personality types and guild dramahz are. Also had verified how much being a healer is just like playing whack-a-mole, except with green bars. And read 1-6 of the Ouran manga, think I'm rather hooked.
