the penguin of death is watching you
Sep. 24th, 2007 09:28 amSo, things thus far. Went to London via train day before yesterday, riding first class thanks to Kat's friend/housemate Becky (who is adorable, by the way). London is, to be honest, a fairly dusty, dingy, scuzzy city--nice, old, gorgeous buildings and such, but... ^^; Very full of people, too. Rode the Underground a lot (not sure why I dig the Underground so, but I do), and doubledecker buses ♥ Was very win.
Met up with another friend of Kat's, Chris, who is an extremely decent and cool guy, and proceeded to do the Wetherspoon's tour of the city (i.e. we managed to stop in front of, or actually went in, like five different Wetherspoon's pubs--not counting the one we drove by in Taunton coming home). I seem to have a great fondness for Wetherspoon's (or Poons as Kat calls it), which probably says something about me. :/
Walked for hours and hours, past the Tower of London (which is really not a tower, per se), over the Tower Bridge, by Parliament and whatever tower Big Ben would normally be in (if the bell wasn't out for maintenance--ignorant American me found out the tower itself isn't Big Ben, just that bell. Also it's pronounced Buckingum Palace, as they made me practice saying :p ). Also walked past Downing Street and up to Trafalgar Square/Nelson's Column.
Yesterday was another slack day, to recover. More videogames (watched Kat finish MGS2, am probably going to have to find fic now XD;;; ), some Bill Bailey standup, and Spaced. Knew I'd like Black Books, which we watched some of the other day, but I really, really came to adore Spaced. That is a funny, cute, charming, wacky, delightfully geeky sitcom. And Kat cooked food of *wooooonderfulness*--bangars and mash, toad in a hole, vegetables, and after this frozen cheesecake of sinfulness (strawberry creme brulee :9 ). I feel like making gurgling Homer Simpson noises just thinking of it all again. \:D/!
Today I think is just wandering back through Taunton so I can be touristy more (buy some stuff like I did in London, do more pictures), I think tomorrow is Bath. Starting to run short of days o____o D: D: D: Poor Kat, probably going to *really* be happy to get her space/privacy/solitude back. I'm always sort of in the way >_>;;
