anniversary, of sorts
Nov. 16th, 2005 03:52 pmI knew it was around this date somewhere--turns out I let it slip by just a little bit. But looking back at my entries from last year, I started playing WoW's open beta on Nov.11'04. And of course that's when I created my first version of Sasuke the female night elf rogue (I think I switched face markings between beta and the retail start, but pretty much identical otherwise). So I've been doing this for over a year now. And yeah, that's both a good and a bad thing. But there it is. Nov.23 will be the 1 year anniversary of the game's official going-live date.
Odd little tid-bits of game news--Sasu-rogue is now a Sergeant (rank 3, with fourteen possible rankings, 1 being lowest and 14 being highest/best). Was helped along by last week/weekend being double-honor in Arathi Basin. I still have yet to go to Alterac Valley, but I'm guessing that will be this week's double-honor venue, so I should get a chance to try it out. And I've gotten loots. Yay, it'd been so damned long. Got a burning essence from the BRD coffers to use for a fire resist enchant, and finally finally got the Scarlet Kris dagger. That's one I'd always lose rolls on when it'd drop (like at Ony/MC). But was a good Ony trip with the LC group. I sucked rocks, as I was so rusty--hadn't been to Ony in ages. But they got her down on the first attempt, with only 33 people instead of 40. Not too shabby.
Also finally mailed off *all* the items and gold from the Dbvault character I'd had for the Doombringers. I think I spent a gold in 30c each mailing fees. Though the new guild lead is going to have to do something about how it's handled--because all that stuff were things that had just sat and sat and sat for interminable lengths of time. So I didn't feel bad about grabbing the engineering patterns for my hunter, and a couple other misc. items. I think he's gonna have to vendor or AH items to get it all under control--or force people to take things at blade-point. :/ (I suppose the couple felcloth and essence of earth would be considered more than just 'misc. items', but I would have taken them a lot earlier while still in-guild...but I gave others a chance to do so first, and no one did. Heck with them then.) I guess willpower is mailing off the 500g. If I were a bastard I would have filched that for an epic mount. But I guess I'm in that grey area between bastard and honest person, because the thought did cross my mind obviously, though I just couldnt' do that sort of thing. Ahwell. Anyway. Once I'm certain the items were recieved by the new bank toon, I'll delete Dbvault and finally have another character spot on Alleria available. w00t.
