Or something like that.

Anyway, looks like my friends' page displays absolutely fine here at work, and it still wasn't when I checked from home before leaving, so it appears to be a Netscape 4.73 problem. Yeah, I know, I'm still using that crap--I've just been too fscking lazy and paying attention to other stuff to download a newer version like I've got here. So I guess I'm going to either dl Netscape 6.2 when I get home, or just go and grab Opera, since Jenn and Kea were kind enough to give me a link to that. It even has a OSX version, so I could use that after we upgrade, rather than be forced into IE like we thought we would be. At least it's not an lj problem, so I can deal with it myself rather than waiting on them to correct it.

Other than that--had some cool thunderstorms last night. We're desperate for the rain, so that's a bonus. Though the streets were extra slick, even compared to when normally rain-damp. Maybe the lack of precipitation has left the pavement extra funky with oils and dust or something. Though the storms kept waking me up, so though I tried to get an average amount of sleep, it wasn't the most effective. >_< My night this evening may involve dinner, practicing on Unmei a bit, then bed fscking early. I dunno. I'd hate to waste an evening like that (nothing depresses me more than work-bed-work), but I don't want to be dragging around during the lesson tomorrow.

Oh, my annoyance for today: I've heard something about some ad campaign Dr.Pepper is doing, involving the Pledge of Allegiance, except for they're leaving off the words "under God". Well, I'm seeing now where some people are having a royal shit fit about this, calling for boycotts and whatnot. Um, excuse me, but Dr. Pepper sells to an audience of more than Christians. If they want to do this in order to show a touch of respect for those that do not follow "God"--gee, think of all the Buddhists, Muslims (doesn't say 'under Allah' now does it?), Wiccans, Agnostics, Atheists, etc etc--they should be free to do so. Not to mention, the Pledge was *originally* written without the phrase "under God". I mean, that was added this century--I forget if it was the 30s or the 50s, something like that. If these people are going to freak, they should freak at the original authors of the Pledge, and all those who dared recite it before those words were added.

I was raised Missouri Synod Lutheran, and even now I still believe in some sort of higher spiritual power. But I hate this sort of mentality that basically says "This is the only way, our way must always be recognized and followed, we don't care if you believe differently because you're wrong anyway, nothing exists but our viewpoint, and love and tolerance means being able to shove our beliefs down your throat." I'm glad there are people in this world like Michael, and my friends and family who truly live as they believe--otherwise I'd be fully convinced that belief systems like Christianity were nothing but hypocrisy made pretty and warmfuzzy.
