...jinkies, I'm actually gonna do it.
Nov. 1st, 2003 03:25 pmGot this idea a while ago...from a comic, of all things. But this past week I was reminded about it by a woman at the dr's office.
Ever heard of something called Locks Of Love? http://www.locksoflove.org/
Have made an appt. with my hairstylist for next Saturday. Am going to get a trim. And them I'm going to lose 16 inches, to give to this organization. ...I can't really believe I'm going to do this. You have to understand...I can't stand the way I look. Absolutely can't. The only thing I'm proud of, vain about, obsessive about, is my hair. I like that it's so long that it's down to my upper thighs. I like that it draws attention (yeah, I know--pathetic of me, ne?). I like that I can very, very nearly do a Duo-length braid for real.
And I know that it will grow back. But it's going to be up to...just below shoulder-blade/bra level, I'm guessing. I haven't had it that short since 1999. It's going to take years to get it so long again. It'll be decent...but it won't be impressive. So I feel rather...jinkies...at the whole concept. Will probably feel even more so next Saturday am.

Other than that...was very bad. Hit Hot Topic for stickers and buttons. Hit Godiva allegedly for a gift...didn't find said gift, but did find candy. ^^;; Found a new bulk candy store with much in the way of sour gummy fruits and create-your-own pixy sticks. Discovered that Mannheim Steamroller has a Halloween CD out (Hawke! Haven't listened to it yet, but looks cool! You should check it out. ^^ ) Did find aforementioned gift at Barnes and Noble--but also found several books. ^^;; Including the new Get Fuzzy collection. Also found a slice of Pumpkin Cheesecake and a Carmel Macchiato. (V., v. bad me--now heart is racing and complexion preparing to go nuclear >_<; ) Very, very, very bad me. (Also bad Katkat for talking about coffee this am... >_> Blast you. *gnaws* )
Also, am obviously not doing that dance practice. So am not going to be participating. I suck. Just didn't wanna do it today, and started panicking at the thought of trying to get to three practices a week. Esp. since I know I'd miss the 15th and the 22nd to go help clean and paint my grandparent's old house. Meh. I really, really do suck. >_<
Is very dim and grey out--looks hours later than it is. And is cold. I adore fall. Adore adore adore.
On the way home, caught a radio station that was just starting to play Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall, Part II. Had to roll down my window and go *CRANK'D* to the radio. Had to. The Wall demands that the car/house vibrate when it is played.
...*gnaws on where Arty is not*
Btw, 'minimalist crotch' is the coolest phrase that KatKat has come up with ever. >D And she says much that is amusing. But this kills me. XD And it would be a kickass name for a rock band.
...I want to go listen to Pink Floyd and play with my oil pastels. At least for a little bit, until Kelly comes over for us to work on that homework project for Japanese.
