Er, or something. It functions. Meaning, the computer is home, yay. :)

Though I almost thought I wouldn't get online tonight after all, as the moment I plugged in the machine, we discovered our cable modem had gone on the fritz, and which didn't come back up until about an hour ago. Thanks to the jackball who nicked the cable somewhere out in our area! *flails*

Anyway, all is working. For the moment. *has a fit of extreme paranoia* But for now...!

Congrats on getting the computer back. It's true what they say: you don't know what ya got until it's gone. *grin*

And yay for working cable! Once the local cable company succeeded in separating their elbows from their asshats and came to fix my connection (like I have been telling them from the beginning) everything has been great.

:) Thanks, and I'll knock on wood for both of us--hope yours keeps going right. Wish I could get ours to finally isolate this persistent problem, but at least we muddle through it each time we have connect troubles. (And now I'm hearing there's rumors of financial troubles in Qwest/TCI, so we're also snooping at the other cable modem company in town... )
