quick update

Just to let everyone know, James and I got back into town ok last night. Even got unpacked already, and are settling in decently quick. Have the day off today to get things done, then I go back to work tomorrow. Cats are most happy to see us.

One unfortunate thing, tho--the power button on my computer busted when I went to turn it on last night. Got stuck in, and won't pop back out. Freaked the computer out, and when I quick shut it down, it refused to turn on again. Gargh. ><;;; *flails* Just dropped it off here at CompUSA to fix--gonna take 3-5 days and at least $100 to do...*much more flailing* Currently I'm borrowing a store display computer to do this. Yeek. ^^;

Anyhoo, I'll try to get caught up as quick as I can at work, lj and emailwise. I feel ok using James' computer for like webcomics or general stuff, but not for personal things. But there's nowhere I'll be able to IM from for a few days. Many apologies for that, many many. Will find people and get caught up soon as I can.

But con was decent, with both up and down points, but seeing folks there was undescribably wonderful. I miss you all very, very, very much. The hardest thing is not having you all around me, the quiet when I'm used to noise and laughter. So, to absent friends... *hugs to all*

Yeek, store employee hovering, must go. Love to you all (and extra marmoset burritos with cheese from Monkey Hat to YamaMama :) ).

...if my machine's taking longer to 'repair' just because it's off enjoying some iMac nookie, I am going to pitch it off a balcony. Twice. >_<

But yeah, probably was getting revenge for something. Who knows what. I don't imagine it takes much to piss off a computer.

*snerks* Ah, but tis nice to know someone else out there remembers and appreciates the 'monkey hat' bit. ^^ We had code names for these (not terribly well-functioning) walkie talkies at the con--Nix was Yama Mama, I was Monkey Hat, Kea was Ojousama, Jenn was Mothership and James was...James. Yeah. Anyway. If we use walkie talkies or cel phones (er, not that I have one *flails*), I may keep the moniker Monkey Hat. And I will do the dance. >D

...crap, no word yet on my computer. Wonder if I can come in to work to use this one, at all. *flails*

Have faith dear Monkey Hat. Have faite in their ability...to take days to get around to fixing something that probably only requires five minutes of their time. Yesssss.

I want a cool moniker. Like Strong Bad. Or the entire first verse of the hokey pokey.
