Improvement, yay. :)
Mar. 11th, 2002 10:38 amSlept bad last night, but I tried coming in to work today for a half day. Happily, I found out I had not too much piled up, so I've got it under control already. :) Still gonna be a few days before I'm right again, but I think normality's close. Happy happy joy joy. ^_^
Man, damned tired despite the decent mood I'm in. I think I shall nap when I get home. (After lunch, tho--why the heck am I so hungry so early, here? )
Got to talk to Nix real briefly last night, which was way good. I'm crossing my fingers that the rest of her drive goes well.
Oh, and I was reminded this am that it's six months since 9-11, so I've been thinking about that a lot. I see a lot of places where we have grown from the experience, but in some ways we're going "back to normal" in ways that seem to show we haven't grown or learned a thing. I've been hearing stories of people getting the "Me me me, quit inconveniencing me, the universe centers around me" attitudes in airports, rather than being patient and understanding like the couple months afterward. And people still seem to confuse patriotism and loyalty with blindly following leaders without questioning or debating. That's not good--crisis *never* means those in power are automatically wise and competent. We should always think and question, no matter who is governing us--it's our responsibility, and the ultimate check&balance of our political system.
But I still am thinking about the fallen--especially those who *chose* to go in and died doing so, and about those who are suffering and dying through the continued fighting. Can't light a candle here, but I can do so in my heart and mind, I guess.
